My wisdom teeth were impacted sideways and had to be cut out. I did it on a semester break in college on a Friday to allow recovery time.
When they woke me up, I will still heavily under the influence of the gas. My Dad had taken me and I had a hard time keeping my eyes opened. I remember lying on the cot and that I could only see him from the knees down. I kind of rested my head on the passenger door window and saw the lane divider or road edge on the way to my Grandparent's home as the surgeon was in another town from where we lived. I was awakened to take pain medicine, did not have anything to eat that day at all. I basically slept from the time I got there in the late morning until the next morning. I tried to have some liquid the next morning, but was in some pain, took some more medication and went back to bed. I got a little something down towards evening, but then went back to bed. I had little pain, so the medication was pretty good.
The next morning, I was out of the original pain medication, but had a different medication as a backup. Unfortunately, whatever it was made me ill and I was throwing up from about 7 am - 3 pm constantly. There could not have been anything in me. I was finally able to use ice chips and keep the little bit of liquid in me. After a few more hours, I was able to have some soup broth. I had some pain through the night and was able to get back home Monday and to college on Tuesday. You have to watch what you eat with anything of substance possibly getting into the holes that remain and causing an infection. My mother had in infection after having hers out and she explained that it was extremely painful.

I got mine removed when I was 15/16. It was an easy process. I went to sleep and then took them out. I only ate jello for a few days.
The gas they put me on was incredible. Felt so happy/sleepy for the rest of the day.

Mine were pulled out as a teen and it wasn't too bad. I did have two extractions recently and the aftermath was horrible because of a dry socket. Honestly, I'd rather endure a four hour tattoo than get teeth pulled out. Haha

I haven't had any come through yet, nor any sign of them coming thankfully. Some people don't actually have any, and some people don't ever have any come through even if they do have them, my mum is in her mid-late 50s and has only had one (which did have to be pulled).
I don't even have any space for them on the top.

Has anyone here ever gotten them pulled? I found out today that I have to have all four pulled at once, along with a tooth that I had a root canal on a few years ago which is now infected. I know that getting them pulled affects people differently, with some being fine and some others vomiting and barely being able to anything for the next few days. had mine out & no trouble...took a nap, only took one pain pill as prevention for right after I got home - played basketball later that night 2 of mine were under the gums, 2 had broken through already family member of mine had to have it done at hospital though, because of wrapped blood vessels -- people in high school I knew would end up with blue bags under eyes for about a week from air pocket issues you shouldn't have much to worry about (knock on wood)

I was very fortunate that there was just enough room in my gums for my wisdom teeth. My guns were very sore while they were coming in but other than that, they caused no problems.

When you think about it, acts like removing wisdom teeth are just a sign of how developed the human race really is. Some of us are in pain thanks to their wisdom teeth and they see a specialist who shoots narcotics into their system and then cuts open their mouth to remove a few teeth. Somebody had to be the first to actually do an operation like this and somebody was the first to take one. Thinking about topics like this always amazes me.

I luckily only had top wisdom teeth to begin with, and I was told that the top ones being removed comes with less pain. This is apparently because there are more nerves surrounding the bottom wisdom teeth. I was pretty much better in a week. The first day was a bit rough because of all the bleeding, and it's kind of shitty being on a liquid diet if only even for a few days.

Yes. I have very big teeth, so I needed to clear some space to make room for my million dollar smile. I got these as well as my extra k-9's removed in one shot, 8 total. I had to go to a specialist so it wasn't cheap as you may know. The Dr. tried to convince me to do two sessions but it would have been more for the gas. I was feeling frugal at the time and I was in the mood for a little pain so I figured, why the f*¢k not.
Good times…

Had all for pulled at the same visit using only novicane and it was awesome. It didn't really hurt but I like dental pain. The fun part was the pulling and hearing the tooth rip out. Don't take any aspirin before hand cause you'll bleed alot. That's what happened to me. Other then that, I was fine a day later. My ex sister in law had one so packed in they had to cut through her cheek to remove it.

Never got my wisdom teeth removed. They started coming in at around 17 years old, until I was about 23 or 24. I would be in pain for maybe a week and then it would go away. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year I could feel them coming in, sometimes I would feel my pulse in the bottom teeth. Never went to the dentist though. They would've probably removed them if I went. My dad told me he never got his removed, so I just toughed it out and they came in fine.
