This new guy announcing on SmackDown is fantastic. Is this his first time announcing? I haven't watched SmackDown in months. He actually calls moves correctly, shows genuine emotion and doesn't ramble on and on about the WWE Network for 45 minutes. What a concept. Reminds me of Joey Styles his first few weeks after he came to the company before Vince completely changed everything that was remotely appealing about him.

Good Smackdown tonight, and a great start for them on USA.

Mauro Ranallo is so amazing! He made things seem important! He called moves! He just referenced Marty Robbins!
Tonight was good. I'm going to be watching Smackdown every week now. I wish they had him calling Raw too. I just hope King either finds his old heel personality, or doesn't keep trying to do that.

He's done a lot of New Japan English announcing. He's, imo, one of the best commentators in the world at the moment.

As Stan said earlier, it is not his first go around. He's called boxing, MMA and New Japan. It is however, his first WWE show.

Ok, so, I'm five minutes into the Del Rio/Kalisto match and the only question I have is "when can Mauro replace Michael Cole?"
Seriously. He instantly brings legitimacy to the match. He's interested. He acts like what he's watching matters.
Who would've thought, when you call pro wrestling like pro wrestling, things sound pretty good.

I enjoyed the show tonight. Nothing groundbreaking, but pretty solid all around.
New commentator is very good.
Becky keeps getting better.
Owens/Ambrose is the best feud today.

Well, now I'm an hour in and believe it would be a travesty if Mauro wasn't added to PPVs immediately. He changes the entire tone of the product for the better.

I watched clips of Smackdown. Mauro Ranallo is very good on commentary. I remember him from the NJPW on AXS shows. He sounded like he belonged there. Honestly, I think it should just be Mauro Ranallo with Lawler on commentary, no need for Saxton to be there.

If that actually happens (which won't....), it would be super awkward, considering Michael Cole picked Mauro to be hired to be the Smackdown lead announcer.

It was so refreshing to hear actual moves being called correctly, with emotion. Back body press and he hooks the leg makes even every pin seen important. I hope he gets promoted to Raw eventually.

I thought tonight's Smackdown was actually pretty good. The recaps with, ugh, Roman Reigns, were brutal, but the rest of the show was quite fun.
I did not like the new announcer, though. I see so many people here praising him, but he just felt forced and fake and phony to me. He actually made me appreciate Byron Saxton, which is something that has never happened before! I hope he tones it down a bit.

About a minute into the show I realized whoever this guy announcing is that iv never heard before, needs to replace Michael Cole immediately! Not only did he single handedly make the show more interesting, he actually made King and Saxton sound better too. Unbelievable that the WWE couldn't figure out how much announcing adds to the show until today

He actually made the in-ring stuff sound important and legitimate. It's a tone that hasn't really been heard since the days of Jim Ross. They need to keep him and let him hype up the matches. The only time when I felt his commentary was a little jarring was when he kept over-emphasizing Kalisto's name. The rest sounded fine.
