Great news, but like others have said, would've been great to have been done when he was still with us...

I hope Hogan doesn't induct him. Hogan will induct him. Lanny will accept the award & give the speech.

Words Hulk Hogan never agreed with. oh yea the best lil man for the job Daniel Bryan right I don't think you got what I was saying. Hulk Hogan is fine to induct Macho Man, though I prefer if his brother did it. I was poking fun at how Hogan never wanted to do the "job" to anyone else throughout his career. Daniel Bryan was pointless to bring up. I only mention him when he's relevant.

It's about time, though Savage should be here to participate. It won't be the same without him.
Does anyone have a link to the video that was shown?

to be fair....i dont think the WWE planned on Macho Man passing away...and from what we've known, the Poffo family were the ones blocking Savage's induction at every turn.
It was pretty clear he & the company had "made up" with his figure deal etc. Maybe they had big plans for him...He died in 2011, his Defining Moments figure came out late 2010.
Lets say for example they wanted him in quick... Well, Shawn Michaels got the nod for 2011. You're not putting Savage AND Shawn in at the same class....and to be perfectly honest.....Shawn deserved his own HOF spotlight Savage then dies soon after, and his family wouldn't "allow" him to be inducted without the rest of the family (who really don't deserve it BTW) so the WWE probably said OK we're gonn have to ride this one out
Next couple years you have Edge, Bruno, Foley, Warrior....All big names who were still alive, etc. Macho Man deserved a spotlight induction, this is the PERFECT year to do it. Let's not crapall over the WWE and say "he shoulda gone in years ago" we weren't there, we don't know what truly happened and we may never know....but for what Savage did for the business for Vince to NEVER acknowledge his existence up until only a handful of years ago there MUST have been something MAJOR
This is a great moment in wrestling. A LEGEND getting what he deserves. It's so god damn sad he can't be here to accept it in person.

Awesome!!!
Macho Man is my favorite wrestler.
I remember when he made his debut on Superstars. Or was it Challenge?
Right away I thought he was awesome. My little kid mind picked him to be my favorite.
Glad to see this happen.

I don't really think Hogan is the guy to induct him. While they may have buried the hatchet, I fear that Hogan may eclipse the event with his self-promoting. If anything, I'd love to see the Nature Boy do it, but that fear is there to a lesser degree.
If I had a choice, Flair would be the perfect fit so long as he didn't do anything to outshine the Macho Man. Another good take would be Ricky the Dragon Steamboat.Pretty much anyone who Savage had an intense feud with would work.
But Hogan would not be my first choice. It would surprise me if it wasn't him though.
Others I could see aside from Flair and Steamboat, would be DDP, Okerland, Vince McMahon.

Its perfect for Hogan to induct Savage. People can say "oh well they've always hated each other" but thats not true at all. They were very good friends for a long time and Macho's career will always be linked to Hogans in one way or another. In the final days/months of Macho's life he and Hogan might not have been as close as they once were, they still had a pretty strong bond and true friendships will always last. Nobody knows what the relationship was like between the two from the time Savage made his Rap CD but if Lanny and his mother are OK with Hogan inducting Macho, then clearly the relationship wasnt as bas as the smarks keep trying to make it out to be. Just more Hogan hating.

It's bittersweet. I'm happy Savage is finally going into the HOF. But he's dead. There will be no speech from him. He won't be at Mania. Instead his lesser talented brother will soak up the cheers. And all we'll get is when we look at the wwe hof website is Randys picture and some videos. It's never gonna be the same.
