So I don't know if it was mentioned in the Raw thread, because I don't feel like going through 60 some odd pages to see, but last night on Raw when John Cena said he was going to win the WWE Title, and take it home with him and not have it on Raw or at PPVs unless Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback were brought back just seemed a bit ridiculous.
It was almost like a rib on the WWE itself, because the WWE Title hasn't been on Raw, defended on PPV or anything like that since September.
So really, what was the point in Cena saying he would take the belt home with him?? The belt hasn't been around for the past 4 months anyway.

Cena should win the title for the 16th time if only to take it home with him and refuse to defend it or even show up on RAW or Smackdown until Ziggler, Ryback and Rowan are all reinstated, that is actually perfect

Plus Cena is pushing 40 or he will be 40 years old in the next 2 years and why should WWE have the face of their company be a guy who is like pushing 40 when their "Man" should be younger and much more fresh

Cena's promo made no sense.
He was like "I'm going to win the WWE Title a go home. How's that going to look for this company to not have it's biggest prize on the show?"
Uuuuh the belt is never on the show anyway because Brock is never there until the last few weeks. So Cena's promo made no sense. But it was probably Vince McMahon either being senile and not remembering that Brock is never there, or he's just going to try and deny the fact that we haven't had a WWE Champion for the last 4 months. Because with WWE, if it happened more than a few weeks ago, they can just re-write history and pretend something different happened and just go with that.
They can be like: BROCK HAS BEEN DEFENDING THE BELT LIKE A TRUE CONQUEROR! And we're just supposed to be like "oh, ok...sure!"

It's because Cena knows this is the only way fans will cheer his victory.

Cena would force The Authority's hand. The Authority will want Cena to defend the title unlike Lesnar, because they'll actively be seeking to take it away from him any chance they get. That's essentially the only route Cena can take to get back at The Authority and bring back the other good guys to fight the good fight. It would actually bring an air, albeit small, of freshness to Cena. A less antagonistic anti-establishment character like Punk, but serving a similar role. Not bad.

Cena just looked like a total dumbass all night last night. This was probably the pinnacle of it though. It was sort of the comeback equivalent of "I know you are, but what am I?" Cena got forced into bringing back the Authority and now, out of desperation, he's going to hold up the WWE Title, to save friends he couldn't be bothered to help when they were employed? A title, which everyone knows, is currently being held hostage anyway by Brock? It also cuts against Cena's character. That's not how a superhero saves the day. He really did the same deal during the main event segment. "No, me and Brock are going to kick your ass!" At which point, Rollins told Cena to pipe the down and then stomped on his head to a smattering of cheers. That's on creative. No continuity, and dialogue is often presented in a vacuum like this is the first time we've ever seen the show.

Yeah, that was a real head scratcher.
Also, if Cena "refused" to compete wouldn't the Authority just strip him of the title?
I'm just thinking out loud here.

I think the WWE is trying to recreate the Summer Of Punk by doing the Winter Of Cena.

WWE would never do that because then they'd have to give out refunds for Cena not being on the show. Yes they have done that.

Well they all get time off every now and then, no harm in letting Cena sit out after the Rumble and not show up live till after Fast Lane. Gotta imagine Orton will be back at the Rumble, so let Orton, Rollins, Bryan and Reigns carry the House Shows like they did when Cena was injured in 2013. Only reason I could see it NOT happening is it is the Road to Wrestlemania. Meh.

it was just a case of the WWE and their "dumb fans" attitude. like, im starting to legitimately believe this company exists to ignore anything and everything they want and just make crapup as they go along.
completely ignore the fact Lesnar hasn't been on TV or defended "his" title since September last year it's a complete joke...but this company backed themselves into such a corner they HAVE to pretend like it didn't happen so they can sell Lesnar as this unstoppable force (even though he's only beaten 2 guys in a year)
everything the WWE does is forced and oversold. that's what they base their entire company after.
the stuff that ends up NOT being like that....is the best stuff that comes out of the shows. THAT is the problem

THAT is the problem I honestly think it's more Cena pointing out that The Authority has NO ISSUE with Lesnar not defending, because he's one of their guys. But the second someone like Cena, who's actively trying to find a permanent way to axe them, wins the title they're gonna run that horse till it loses the title by whatever means necessary. So why not pull the same stunt on them they've been pulling on Cena et. all of the WWE in an anything you can do I can do better way, but in typical face fashion, have a good reason for doing it that the fans would obviously support. Maybe I'm giving the WWE too much credit. Prolly. Haha.
