The point I'm making is they are going to want something to interest casual fans not just hardcore collectors. Calling it the indy line is limiting the amount of buyers because it only caters to hardcore fans. Giving a catchy name to a set of cool looking figures is good business. They're going to market these to make money, not just to interest 100-200 hardcore fans. I get what you're saying and since an inaccurate name probably won't be enough to scare off the hardcore collectors, it's worth a try. Personally, I doubt there's anything that could be done to entice the casual fan considering these aren't gonna be in stores but it probably won't hurt to try and use a more attention getting but less accurate name. In business though, it can backfire when you try to appeal to a broader audience but in the process, alienate your core audience.

I don't think the name of the set is going to alienate anyone. That's a big stretch.

if the NAME of a wrestling figure line is going to make you not purchase the figure, it's time to re-think your hobby

I dig what I'm seeing. I am glad to see some progress so we actually have some hope. I was beginning to worry a few months ago when we were seeing zip.

I know it's early to ask but where are these figures going to be sold ? I can't see them being in stores as they are quite specialized, website exclusive somewhere ?
I'm from the UK and hope I can get my hands on some of these figures without too much hassle.

Online only (a site from the manufacturer) at a direct competitor of Ringside Collectibles, so the site nor the manufacturer can't be mentioned here. Reading through this topic should provide you with enough hints to find the site.

So they will be wholesaled then? Thats good news for the line then. If they have other people carrying the line it can hopefully lead to them making more figures.

Feedback suggests they will sell well. It helps when we have a base that will buy items they want whatever cost. we are aiming for the price of an elite and feel thats achievable based on prices estimated before on other items like the mego type stuff

The people in this thread are probably the people most passionate and eager to buy them and I haven't heard anyone say "I'm buying them even if they're $50 per figure". I'm guessing you don't have this deal in writing because that would kinda be impossible without an agreed upon wholesale price. Never mind the fact that you haven't even seen the product. Also, the toy company said they'd be selling them for about the price of an elite through their own website. Dont you think you'd have to mark them up, or will you just settle for that smaller profit? Will they be being shipped directly from their factories (presumably in China) to you guys?

We have a store the world doesnt revolve around this board. we asked consumers if they would be interested if they were same prices as elites and the response was yes. nothing in writing is needed there is no exclusivity to it we are just adopting early. we have a pre existing wholesale deal.
