With John Cena being rumoured to be the man who ends Rusev's undefeated streak that would also mean that he will walk out as US champ. But my question is how would you feel about him having another run with the belt? It's been 11 years since Cena was US champion and during that time has been a 15 time champ and main evented many PPV's so it would be strange seeing the face of the company hold a title which is lower than the IC.
However for nostalgia I think it would be great to see him as US champion again and maybe he could bring back the Word Life spinner for his run which would be good for merchandise sales.
So what do you guys think would you be for or against a US reign for Cena?

It's better than him being WWE Champion.

Probably be on the way to retiring the title.

John cena coming full circle should only benefit people like Rollins, Bryan and ambrose. I personally think he's the only one who could make that title worth something again

Rusev should not be beat by Cena.

I remember when Cena was US champion he made the belt one of the most popular in the company. It was one of the best selling jakks belts at that time if I'm correct.

Before this feud was announced, I always wondered if he'd ever be given the Intercontinental champion to make him a Triple crown champio, so it does seem a bit odd they put him in a US title match.
I'm not going to lie, this quite excites me though. I really hope he does win it and add some legitimacy to the belt as opposed to retiring it.
I don't even care if they give us the super American winning the countries champion bull crapif it leads to the title given some proper storylines and meaning.
I can almost guarantee he'll either lose at Fast Lane or win via DQ, then beat him clean in a non title match at Mania though. That's if he still has the title then. They'll probably have him lose a Triple Threat on Raw so he still has his streak and Cena doesn't get "stuck" with a mid card title.

Rusev beats Cena to retain the US Title at Fastlane
Cena beats Rusev at Wrestlemania in a non title match, because Cena doesn't care to win the title, he just wants revenge on him.

I'd be ok with Cena as US Champ, but I'd be more worried about Rusev. Being undefeated is pretty much the only thing keeping him from jobbing constantly in non title matches. Once he loses once he'll start losing all the time.

Honestly, Cena is almost guaranteed to bury Rusev at WM anyways, so he might as well take the title.
But if they put the belt on him, I think they should take this opportunity to merge the IC and US titles. MAYBE, just maybe, the IC Title might be worth a damn again then. Of course, that would more than likely involve Cena burying Barrett again, or Ambrose... but atleast we might have a 2nd legit title again.

I wouldn't mind Cena as US Champion, but it he's going to win a midcard championship in this day and age, then it should be the Intercontinental Championship so he can finish his Triple Crown.

I'd honestly like cena as us champ. Hasn't happened in a while for him, and it keeps him out of the main event picture.

Has it even be announced that this match is a title match? They showed a graphic on raw, and I believe it said United States Championship on it.

It'd definitely be refreshing. Maybe bring some prestige back to the title.
Why the hell not have him US Champ?

Cena will win by DQ, cost Rusev the belt in a mutli man match leading up to WM then they'll have a rematch at Wrestlemania

I thought it was a non-title match.
I'd love Cena as US champion. Let the man make the title instead of the other way around.
I want to go back to the days when the "secondary" titles meant something. Sometimes I feel like they're just things some guy has because WWE wants to get that wrestler over.
Remember when Bulldog and Hart headlined over the intercontinental strap? (Or was that the European?)
Remember when SCSA tossed the Rock's Intercontinental strap into a river?
That was the bomb. Bring those days back. Cena can do it with the U.S. title.

I was going to mention it in my post. I'm glad you did. I'm pretty excited for that match to be honest.

Yes!! I would like to see the return of the United States Spinner Championship Title Belt!! Bring back the throwbacks and battle raps. We need the John Cena we all loved. After a few months of that, unify the Intercontinental and United States Championships, and create the United Continental Championship Title at Night of Champions.
