Yes!! I would like to see the return of the United States Spinner Championship Title Belt!! Bring back the throwbacks and battle raps. We need the John Cena we all loved. After a few months of that, unify the Intercontinental and United States Championships, and create the United Continental Championship Title at Night of Champions. That's actually a decent point regarding Night of Champions. If they did merge the 2, that PPV would be pretty pointless with only 4 active champions on the main roster. I would not be against NXT titles being defended instead though. Just saying

Why the hell not? Give it to Cena at Mania and let him carry it around for a year like Ambrose did. It's not like it could mean any less and maybe they'll sell some toy belts or can make a t-shirt for him.
The bigger issue is Rusev being left with nothing when this whole deal is over.

Maybe Rusev will go over Cena and become a major star.

The time for Cena to be US champ was the last six months when there was no WWE champ around.

I bet Rusev beats Cena at Fastlane and they have a rematch at Wrestlemania, possibly nontitle.

I still think Rusev beating Cena at Fast Lane and then beating Rock at WM (he did screw him in the Rumble after all) is the way to go but eh.

I'm like 99.9% sure they wont put the U.S belt on their #1 guy. It just doesn't make sense. I don't even like Cena that much but he deserves better. Just not the WWE World title please. I think it was a mistake though it'll prob be non title.

I want to see Rusev win at Fast Lane then declare it the European Championship. Then John Cena can attempt to wrestle it away to bring back the US Championship. Lose at WM. Win it at Extreme Rules in a cage match (Cena escapes, Rusev is never pinned). Rusev then has a final match with Cena at Payback where he is finally defeated for the title.
All this time, build up Jack Swagger and have Swagger defeat Cena at Summerslam. Good guy finish, Cena raises Swagger's hand, says he is the true American Hero.
*Dun duh-nuh-nuh, duh-nuh-nuh, dun, dun, doooooooon, doooooon, dooooooon*
Out comes Kurt Angle.
lol jk, at a certain point it turns into a joke. You decide where.

Rusev should not be beat by Cena. Couldn't have said it better myself! Although if you look closer, there are two positive sides of the coin: 1.) If Cena wins, this effectively keeps him as far away from the World Title as possible. 2.) If Cena loses, this will really elevate Rusev's status as a major player as far as serious Heels go. Its win-win either way. Its not like if Rusev gets his first loss from Cena of all people it ruins his career forever. For the record though. I'm all about Rusev going over cleanly.

Rusev should win the first match against Cena, it not only builds up Rusev it also creates interest for a rematch at Mania.
WWE should stop immediately feeding their "Monsters" to Cena at the first opportunity. Sadly this has been the WWE's Gig since the mid 80's and Hogan. The only time this hasn't happened is Cena/Brock. With Cena coming off of three loses to Brock I think the WWE will give him the clean win over Rusev in their first match.
If the do that and Cena/Rusev have a rematch at Mania Rusev HAS to go over. This will once again build interest for a third match at Extreme Rules.
As for the US Title I would love to see Cena win the belt and use to put over a younger talent. When Cena loses the belt (if he wins it again) his dropping the belt should be used to build someone up.

Rusev beats Cena to retain the US Title at Fastlane Cena beats Rusev at Wrestlemania in a non title match, because Cena doesn't care to win the title, he just wants revenge on him. yup yup. Although I'd be ok with him winning it. A mid card title won't hurt him and he'd just make the title more valuable.

Best case scenario:
Cena wins the US Title Ambrose wins the IC Title Face vs. Face unification match at WM with Ambrose going over.

I could see him win the title at WrestleMania and say something along the lines of him not wanting Rusev to ever get his hands on it again, so he's having it retired. Not that he has that power, but, WWE logic... so.

Let his last title reign be as us champ and have it for a while. This disallows him to beat flairs world title record. And gets mid card guys over and a push to whoever beats him for it. This keeps the wwe title to other deserving guys.and the ic title can be once again the majn belt to progress to the whc.

As long as this keeps him away from the main event and from the WWE title i'm fine with that.

Rusev has plenty of momentum and someone who needs a good push should get it. Cena needs no push, but someone beating Cena for the US title could be monumental.

Sorta reminds me of Triple H holding the intercontinental title in 2001/02? It was strange but I hope they surprise us for once and have Rusev go over.

I think it's a win-win in terms of story. I won't particularly look forward to that match, but, as far as the outcomes go:
If Rusev wins it will be more surprising and do great things for his short-term future. Although I would fully expect a Cena non-pinfall victory at Extreme Rules, with a novelty ending (Rusev trapped under rigs, something explodes etc.). Still, potentially Rusev's most high profile run to date.
If Cena wins I think it would be great. It would really bring a different and dynamic aspect to the U.S. Title. It would give it importance, and break the mold of the top guys only gunning for the one title or feud for nothing if not in that picture. As a wrestler, why wouldn't you want whatever titles you could get? It would also open the door to a whole bunch of mostly unseens feuds that otherwise would never happen. For example, superstars wanting the U.S. Title such as the Ziggler's, Harper's, Wyatt, Ryder, Rhodes, Barrett, Ambrose, Cesaro, New Day, Miz, Sandow, Rowan, Fandango, Swagger, Ryback, Titus, Kidd...

Maybe Rusev will go over Cena and become a major star. I'm hoping that Rusev goes over causing Cena to "lose his smile" and take some time off.
