Twelve years ago today, Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig passed away. I don't know if this has been done before, but I figured we could have a thread where we discuss our favorite Hennig matches, moments and memories. He was, as @bashcrashwiley and myself have said on our podcast, one of the greatest workers in history. Here's some of his matches against my favorite opponent of his, Bret Hart.

What a great performer and athlete. Even before his Mr Perfect days in the AWA as Champion he was just a top all around hand. Such a shame he died so young.

The Perfect/Genius team was amazing and one of my all time favorite pairings.

Him and Flair had one of the best matches of the night at World War 3 in 97

Second greatest worker in wrestling history.
I'm still pissed over the way he died.
Curt Hennig should still be here as a manager, trainer, commentator or agent. He had much to still contribute to the wrestling business.
His match with Bret Hart at KOTR 1993 is STILL my favorite match of all time. 10/10. 5 stars.

Perfect was, well, perfect. Fantastic talent.
Wish he was still around.

His feud with Nick Bockwinkel yielded some of the greatest matches in AWA history. One thing I can say about Curt Hennig that I can't say about alot of wrestlers...I can't recall ever fast forwarding a Mr. Perfect match. Whether I've seen it or not, if he's on the tv I'll watch it.

He was one of my very favorites. As a kid, it was Piper, Flair, and Mr. Perfect. I really don't think there's a "bad" Curt Hennig match, but naming my favorite one would be like asking me to pick a favorite child.
Ironically, I didn't discover him through a WWF match, but rather, during his stint on Super Sloppy Double Dare in 1989. From then on, his cocky, cool demeanor, backed up by his awesome matches, had me hooked. Watching his promos helped me develop confidence as a kid. Something I kick myself about to this day, is opting not to go to a SmackDown taping in Boston in 2002. Instead, I had to study for my midterms. Little did I know that the Sunday Night Heat taping would have Edge vs. Mr. Perfect. I would never get another chance to see him live. I did see "RybAxel" compete in person on Raw this summer, which is the closest I'll get. Come to think of it, because Perfect was a hero to me, is why I want to root Curtis Axel on to more success. Oh well.
For those who want to see the Double Dare episode I mentioned, here it is...

A top 5 of all time for sure. There's a very exclusive league of workers that Hennig is a part of.
Bret vs. Perfect at KOTR 93 is still the best match of all time.
I still get mad about how bad he was treated in '02. Even a sub-par Curt Hennig was head and shoulders better than everyone else.

I always find that people talk more about Curt Henning, and I am not sure who that is.
But "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig was an awesome wrestler in his day! He may have never been WWE World Champion, but at least we can say he was a AWA World Champion.

Mr Perfect is one of my favourite heels ever.....he really is. Pity his back got injured in the 90s....who knows how well he would have done during the NG era?

The man may have never been World Champion the WWF, but he was Intercontinental Champion at a time when that meant something. He really was the perfect choice (pun intended) for the role of Mr. Perfect. And I have to say, one way to tell the ability of a wrestler is to see how he is, wrestling hurt, and with Mr. Perfect, just look at Summer Slam vs. Bret Hart. The man was wrestling with a messed up back, but still put on a great match.

Always loved this quite by the hulkster.
"Everybody would check their egos at the door when they came to a building that Curt Hennig was in, because you couldn't out-work him, you couldn't outshine him and you couldn't out-perform him. He was the best of the best."
