That is all.

Mr perfect is one of my all time favs.
But Perfect had NO shot at being champion in 1990/91. He was successful as IC champ but had major injuries accumulating to be considered Slaughters substitute and was not viewed as main eventer at the time. Sure Slaughter wasnt a main eventer at the time either but he had history of years ago being a big draw/name.
In 1993 the business was evolving in that 'smaller guys' being viewed as championship caliber. Hart, Michaels, etc but by that point Perfect had lost his momentum from his IC title run.
Perfect was ahead of his time but I dont believe he was ever world champion caliber during his years. Which doesn't mean he wasnt great

I haven't been on this board in months but this thread was calling my name guys. Great job guys. Except for the ass hat that compared Hennig to Crash freaking Holly. There's not enough foul language in the universe for me to address that.
I made a nice post on the Facebook page on the 12th year anniversary. Just some pics of my Perfect collection and autographed magazine from when I met Curt in late 2001. Right before his Rumble 02 return.
Best IC champion of all time and biggest what could have been story of all time. So sad how his life ended. 93 and 02 could have been so incredible.

Royal Rumble 2002 is special to me just because of Perfect's return and performance alone. So good.

The "ahead of their time" statement always really bugged me, because no one today really holds a candle to likes of the crop of talent they had in the 80s and 90s.

Easily the cleanest most crisp worker in the ring. The name Perfect just fit. He made wrestling look like an art form. I still consider him to be the greatest IC champion of all time. Shame he wasn't in his prime when Hart & HBK were WWF champions, cause I'm sure he would have had a run or two as champion.

Here's another statement by you that I STRONGLY disagree with. Let's put it this way, when you think about the best wrestlers of all time you're gonna be thinking of the Brets, Hennigs, Shawns, DKs, Savages, Steamboats etc. All those guys were late 80s/90s guys. When I see a guy like Bryan or Rollins, I think "How awesome would it be if they were around back then".

Mr Perfect probably could have taken the title off Flair, then wrestled Bret at Survivor Series 92. If Bret and Flair could be champ at that point, Perfect could too. That would have been cool.

I wouldn't have minded this. Survivor Series 92' is an odd PPV. MANY better ways it could have been booked.

Hell, Flair could've held the title until the "loser leaves town" match on Raw and dropped it to Perfect.
Bret Hart could've won the 1993 Royal Rumble and then defeated Perfect for the strap at Wrestlemania 9.

It's a shame it can't just be about appreciating Curt Hennig as one of the finest pro wrestlers of all time...it has to include how he was booked and who he should've gone over or worked with...

Unfortunately man every Hennig thread or thread he is mentioned in ends the same way.......I have retired hope that this will change anytime soon.
