It's the championship of a developmental territory that has only been around for a few months under 3 years. It's below all championships on the main brand.

I agree with the other guys who rank the NXT titles under the major promotions. They are still a developmental territory after all.
I'm not going to say that the NXT title isn't important, but it's still a lower level title than a world title.

The NXT Women's Title > Every title besides the WWE Championship  it. I think it is # 3 meaning behind the WWE Title and NXT Title but above the IC Title (where the is Wade and can he *or any IC Champion* ever win a non-title match?!) because HHH actually makes the belt mean something. Sure other belts may have more lineage than the NXT World and NXT Women's Titles but like I said the IC/US and Divas Champion are not booked as well as the NXT World and NXT Women's Title and that is pretty sad... Any woman would likely be better off staying in the NXT divas division because they actually get chances to shine whereas the women on the main roster are lucky to get 4 minutes matches on Raw.. TNA is better at treating their ladies better than the main roster divas but I give the edge to NXT atm. |

They are incredibly important within the realm of NXT, but NXT only - take them out of there and they are separate from the WWE titles, just as TNA's, NJPW's, ROH's, etc. are...

Although I think Jr Heavyweight and Jr Tag titles should be on that list somewhere. ROH's Heavyweight and Tag titles as well. And what's up with people putting TNA's Heavyweight title over ROH's? That's insane. Really, I'm not sure WWE's titles should even be on this list, Vince himself had said several times that they are meaningless. |

The NXT Title doesn't have anywhere near as much history as something like the IC Title, but at the same time, the NXT Champion doesn't constantly get pinned on TV in non title matches.
To me, the NXT Title is a lot like what the Intercontinental Title used to be. It's the workhorse's title.

I can't really say in reference to other promotions, but I'd say it falls below the IC, above the US.
Why? A few reasons..
It seems that they tend to have more faith in the NXT champ than US long term (in relation to holding the title). The US is only being held by Rusev for an angle/play off the Russia vs USA thing. The title was on Dean for nearly a year and they did zero with it.
I'd say more plugged in and intelligent fans are aware of the significance of the NXT champion.
The IC title tends to be held by more solid hands, or former/borderline main eventers... I think of Ambrose who is waiting in line for his shot at the top who is going for the IC.
Just some generalizations... The other NXT titles are below their WWE counterparts.
