Bill DeMott as a trainer is just....Hugh Morrus;)
Maybe it's because those guys have like, what, 40-50 years of experience combined?

They sound like a bunch of knobs. It's really not a good idea to instill cockyness and arogance into these guys before they even make the roster. Exactly. If this is true, it sounds like a series of bitch moves on their part. They don't want to train as hard as everyone what so they go crying to daddy? That sounds like an awesome way to ensure that they'll have with everyone in the NXT and main roster locker rooms.

I doubt this is true but it would be lame if it was. You're no better than anyone else there, it doesn't matter what you did on the indy's, in WWE you start as a blank canvas.

I hope it's not true...you want everyone to get better, not resentful of other's preferential treatment...

Good. The NXT 5 outshines the main roster every week so this is completely acceptable to me. This x1000000000.

The idea of Devitt and KENTA having to run ropes and do drills after main eventing sell out arenas in Japan is essentially the equivalent of making Sting do it.
Neville, Zayn and Owens are slightly different but, again, I don't think they need to prove anything to anyone about their commitment to their jobs. They're learning how to do things the WWE way, I'm sure, but I wouldn't expect them to be doing any more than that at this stage.

I think there is probably some truth in what is being said, but its shrouded in so much BS, its hard to find it. Matt Sydal got fired for not going to NXT? Im pretty sure he said himself it was for smoking spice...which is intellectually- disabled. Getchoo da good stuff mon! Cept Sydal DID goto NXT when he was getting ready to get back on the road. And yes, he was smoking spice.....try to avoid the herb.

did anybody see the extreme worlds documentary on Fergal Devitt? It aired on Irish TV and should be on youtube etc. Anybody who has seen that knows the guy works his ass off....and is humble as f*ck. I can see it now....it will be Sheamus all over again when Balor gets pushed...."oh hes only getting a shot because he is HHH's guy" FFS

I watched it and there's no way the guy in that documentary would be like, "You want me to work out? Nope." That said, Balor, Neville, Owens, Zayn and Itami should be getting preferential treatment. They've earned it.

While I could easily see Triple H playing favorites, I think this is being vastly exaggerated.

F Bill Demott, what is special about that guy? Why is he even a trainer? He acts like he knows everything about being a top guy, yet he never was or Could be even close to being a top guy. I don't think Demott is there to teach anyone to be a top guy. He's an bunghole drill sergeant in a position to weed out the guys that are all show and no go. I'm glad he's a dick that pushes untested guys past their limits to see if being on the road over 300 days a year is something they can keep up with. You couldn't pay a Michaels, a Hart, a Flair or another top star from the past to be in that position. Any one remember WCW's Powerplant? Besides Goldberg (who had some issues with actual wrestling, I know) there were other guys to come out of that and succeed, and I remember the guy in charge wasn't exactly a top draw either. And I transition my thoughts on the head trainer into what everyone else is pretty much saying: those 4 guys have nothing to prove based on the schedule or the wear and tear on the body. They've all done it a high level, even if some of them only did it in the indys. I'm sure that's the reason these guys are all featured prominently on NXT, with the current champ having only wrestled a few televised matches on the show. Think of it like the very successful Vice President of a company with a long tenure leaving for the competition. The owners of his new job know what he's worth, so they're only going to put him in the lower positions for a short time to get him accustomed to the way they do things before moving him up the ladder. Some might call it preferential treatment. Others might call it trying not to insult the guy's intelligence.

Okay, first thing that got to me here....we're talking about a group of four....where's Adrian Neville in this? He's been featured as part of an "NXT Five" with these guys from the get-go.
Yeah the whole "Bourne got fired for not reporting to NXT" was deconfirmed the second he stepped foot in an NXT ring...which we've had threads and pictures of on this forum.
I hope it isn't true, mainly because (yeah, they are better than 95% of the talent WWE employs, but still) it doesn't set a good example for the rest of the locker room and it probably deters them from interacting with the four because they may come off as arrogent. Sure DeMott's a resident underachiever, but at the end of the day you should still listen to him.
But ultimately I call BS on this entire report. It comes from the same guy who reported AJ was pregnant. These guys are humble as hell and wouldn't be so foolish as to let the stardom on the NXT stage get to their heads.

Wait, Curt Hawkins is MetsFan4Ever? Is this true or just speculation?
I'm calling BS on this report. Do I think that they are favorites of Triple H's? Absolutely. Do I think a few of them probably skip drills? Sure, but all can work and don't need to be tought how to "work" any better. I forget which veteran said it but he said that after 3 months of training guys should get most of their training in the ring wrestling in front of the crowd. Otherwise they are just taking a bunch of useless bumps that will shorten their career.

Do I think a few of them probably skip drills? Sure, but all can work and don't need to be thought how to "work" any better. I forget which veteran said it but he said that after 3 months of training guys should get most of their learning in the ring otherwise they are just taking a bunch of useless bumps that will shorten their career. It's more speculation I believe, but the MetsFan4Ever posts started happening almost immediately after he was fired and he's a well known die-hard Mets fan.

I can believe there's some truth to this. I'm willing to doubt Finn Balor would throw a hissy fit over doing drills. I doubt any of them would throw hissy fits, but I'm willing to believe that they skip drills. Guys like Zayn, Balor, Owens, Itami shouldn't be doing the same things that someone with little experience should work on. I get that whatever you did in the indies doesn't really matter once you enter the WWE, and I agree with that, but there should be some system where the guys from the indies would do different types of training than the people who are just starting out.

This is great news. I hope it's not a dirt sheet rumor. I don't think it would be all that surprising that 4 wrestlers with roughly 50 years combined experience on the road and abroad are not doing the same workouts and practices that completely green talent is doing. This. Hhh seems to have his head on tight about alt of things, this NXT on a whole. Now Vince needs to move on so HHH could potentially shape up the main roster programming

How does Bill DeMott still have a goddamn job? Are you trying to tell me there is no one out there better at training future WWE Superstars than Bill ing DeMott? SERIOUSLY.

They sound like a bunch of knobs. It's really not a good idea to instill cockyness and arogance into these guys before they even make the roster. I think it's a little ironic in a sense. Zayn, Owens, Bálor, and Hideo are better than the majority of the main roster. Besides Hideo, he still has some cobwebs to shake off, which is understandable. If Neville is considered in the conversation, he's in the same boat with Zayn, Owens, Bálor, and Hideo.
