I have seen a lot of people do this, and I am considering it. Are there any benefits? or is it just for storage purposes?

I have seen a lot of people do this, and I am considering it. Are there any benefits? or is it just for storage purposes? mostly for storage. and as well to keep them clean. being I had a lot of figures who had white attires. such as WMXX Christian & CS1 HBK. at that time wanted to keep them clean as possible. lol if u decide to do this. remove all fabric accessories. since jakks used a powerful, deadly stain, fabric that will ruin figures. lol ok its not deadly, but it will stain figures. and it will bleed so deep into the figure, that u have to swap parts or buy a new figure. hell my Eugene jacket bleed into Eugene & my poor Atrain figure, cause Eugene was laying on top of Atrain....mind u both was in their own plastic zip loc bag

I started doing it after I had to store my figures in a container in my basement for a year. It got so hot down there that rubber materials such as vests and shirts (ex. Shane O-Mac) would melt onto the plastic of other figures. When I separated them, the paint peeled right off.
Since then, I have moved my figures to a cooler area and put the best ones in plastic bags.

Yep, like stated above, mainly for storage. especially when you have tons of figures in a container, after a while paint can start to chip and even stick to other figures. I got the idea from seeing Zack Ryder's collection bagged up on that toy show.

I put the accessories in bags but leave the figures out. I take the figures and put them in boxes that are tall enough for the figure to be standing up straight. I make sure no one is facing out so that their nose doesn't get rubbed, but I stand them straight because stacking them can warp the legs of the figures at the bottom of the stack. Also the weight tends to put more pressure, causing more paint rubs, and for rubber pieces like the hair to peel paint off of other figures.
