Kmart is currently the price leader in the US at $21.99 and Toysrus the cheapest at $16.99. $16.99 for an Elite is amazing... that's approx. £11.05 - that would mean we (UK) will be paying nearly double. ![:-/](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/undecided.gif) Lately toys r us have actually been getting new shipments of figures which is good because their the cheapest , but still no baf kane or bearer. The massive rise in action figure price happened in a ten year span. Action figures were between 4.99 and 6.99 my whole childhood up through about 2004. Marvel Legends (now $21.99 at TRU) were 5.99 when they started. Then a few years passed and they were 8.99, then 9.99, then 12.99 in the space of two years. Seems disproportionate to regular inflation. A gallon of milk isn't 11 bucks, but it would be by action figure inflation.

Yeah but how do you factor in the exchange rate? $16.99USD is only $11.06BPS. When your money is worth 1.5 to every one of ours, the price discrepancy is going to be big no matter how you present it. How is that price relative to other action figures? Also, doesn't the EU have crazy import taxes on goods? So at the base level it's probably not Mattel making those figures cost so much. Maybe they estimate the msrp at 13BPS but retailers have to make you pay double that to cover both their markup and the taxes they're paying on it.
We're talking about a US based company selling goods to US consumers, and trying to compare that with what people pay on goods we export to them? The economic climate varies from country-to-country, especially depending on the value of your "dollar," and you really can't go "well they pay x, so our cost should be relative to x as well." Business doesn't really work that way. I'm guessing 60" flat screens are cheaper in Japan than what I pay at Best Buy.
Action figures have just gotten expensive, period, and it's really obnoxious. That being said, I think the quality of action figures has gotten significantly better, for the most part. So there is a trade off imo.

It's probably because the import rates keep going up.
Remember when CS figs were only £6.99? Jeez.

Starting with Elite 34, the retail price of Elites here will be £19.99 (which is approx. $30.80). Yikes. How much are they in the US these days? And would you pay $30.80? It's getting to be a pretty expensive hobby... ![:-/](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/undecided.gif) U GUYS ARE THE TRUE "MVP's" TO HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO BITCH!!! loool I feel your pain, as an American. we complain, but we should be thankful it don't reach these prices & we have more ways to find our figures by different sources.

For my compatriots who are moaning, I have sympathy, but not much... Just went to the Hamleys in Dubai. Poor Big Show is not too popular. But I'm not surprised at 27 GBP (42 usd) a pop.

Action figure prices all all up across the board.

Man, at £20 a go if I continue to get poor paint apps I'm gonna be pissed. It's a high price to fork out frequently for multiple items, espeically considering we all have other things to factor into our income (bills, rent etc)

That's way too high. I can't really say whether or not I would stop collecting, but I would definitely become more selective in what I purchase and definitely purchase more loose.

In general, prices for WWE Mattel figures are insane outside of (or when comparing them with) the US. In Germany (as nothing is available in The Netherlands), these are the current TRU prices: Elite's --> EUR 25 --> USD 28,50 Basic's --> EUR 15 --> USD 17,- BP's --> EUR 28 --> USD 32,- I wanted to make this exact same post but you saved me a lot of trouble so thank you.

Supply and demand doesn't really apply when they keep having to clearance figures off the shelves. Elite 32 got reduced to £5 each, and currently there probably isn't a Smyth's in the country that doesn't have 50 or more Elite 33 Cesaro figures rotting on the pegs. They struggle to sell the figs at £17.99, so the scary thing about this price hike (which is probably necessary due to Mattel/shipping/import charges) is it may end up pricing Smyth's out of the figure market. Wrestlingworld essentially shut down over the last six months -- they still get figures, but not at the same time as RSC like they used to. Now they get them later than shops do, and they didn't get RSC Edge. I think that's because the prices they had to pay to keep up were higher than they could make a profit on... So now the UK lost its source for fast figures. And the Smyth's increase might mean we end up losing our source for easily available figures too. There's no solution to it really... Costs are going up and prices are rising, no matter where in the world we are.

As you said not much difference at all.

As you said not much difference at all. Defining Moments are expensive too - but I feel that's not as bad as they are "special" figures and only released one every few months... with standard Elites there are 6 figures a time, at least six times a year - that's £360 ( $554 USD) if you wanted to buy them all... it soon adds up(!).

Don't surprise me... I'll still go Smyths in Speke (UK) I had so many great figures last night and I snatched up the final Alicia!

When you think about it, 30 bucks isn't terrible. A single packaged elite costs 10 bucks to ship, and that's just shipping in america. UK shipping costs a whole lot more. No shipping discount they could have would significantly lower the price to shipping a case of figs from China to the UK. Are you really trying to justify this?
