The Kevstaaa Honky didn't win @wm3 to set up his title reign.....He was given the belt and the win over Steamboat as a big FU to Ricky after he wanted time off. Vince was fuming over the fact mere weeks after he had put the belt on Steamboat he wanted time off...... so his punishment was a loss to a comedy character.....

I remember Honky Tonk saying something along those lines in a shoot so I guess that's where it came from. Maybe that was less embarrasing than getting the title to punish someone because they were a joke lol.

Maybe so man.....I remember on Honky's first shoot with RF he said that Patterson told him he was going to win the IC strap and he was stuck to the floor with suprise. He has always claimed to know why and also said he heard the Reed rumour too but nothing he seen that night supported it because Reed wasn't late/no show. He rode with Koko & Billy jack Haynes and was on time like everyone else that day. somebody else rubbished it too.....a couple actually.

I wonder how many other title reigns were brought on by similar situations. I'm sure HTM isn't the only one.

I never believed a single word the Honky Tonk Man said in any of his shoots. Like you said, Joker, Butch Reed was there celebrating with HTM in the back with the heels, so he wasn't clearly gonna win the strap that night. Just like I don't believe the story of because HTM wouldn't drop the IC Strap to Savage, that Savage won the WWE Title at WM 4 instead. Anyone could tell dating back to that SNME in September when Savage and Hogan shook hands, that Savage was the next to take the spot when Hogan took time off.

WM V Hercules def. King Haku- Herc is an AMAZING face. Haku was a solid athlete...glad Hercules got a chance to work a real match. Twin Towers def. Rockers- Hello HBShizzle. Goodbye OMG pride. Beefcake & DiBiase Double DQ- really solid match. The Barber was really on point. DiBiase made him look even better. Good chemistry. Bushwackers def. Rougeaus- ...Hall of Fame? Really? Perfect def. Blue Blazer- Perfect was just that. Perfect. The running gag that Blazer was related to a guy who wears a lot of pink was funny. Demolition def. Powers of Pain & Fuji- Highlight of the match is that Fuji could ing move for his age. Dang. Bravo def. Garvin- WHY DO THEY INSIST DINO BRAVO WAS ANYTHING BUT A JOKE?!?! Brain Busters def. Strike Force- Big things poppin' for Martel. Chico's W/L record keeps droppin' tho. Snake def. Andre- ing Studd. Andre is a shell of what he was, you can tell. Hart Family def. Honkey/Valentine- Never have I rooted for Bret Hart more in my life. What's worse than Valentine without a personality? A dye job Valentine with a fake personality. Rude def. Warrior- Fabulous match. If the main event wasn't AMAZING, this would have been the match of the night. So surprised how well these two matched up. Hacksaw & Bad News Double DQ- I feel like we saw a much better version of this 10 matches ago? Rooster def. Heenan- **facepalm** Hogan def. Savage- Best match by far of the night. The entire story leading up to this match was amazing and they did not disappoint. Oh, and #HoganWinsLol

Wrestlemania VI was my first Wrestlemania!!!! I had just gotten into the WWF in 1989 and this would be the first Wrestlemania that I got to see as it happened........ well on tape delay, but you get the idea. As a kid I loved this shows. I think Wrestlemania V, VI and VII did a great job in having a ton of smaller matches on the show so that they could get as many people on the card as possible. Watching the show now it has lost much of its appeal that it had when I was a child, but there are still some amazing moments. I loved the Jake Robberts vs Ted Dibiase match I know some foudn it boring, but I really enjoyed it then and I still do now. Demolition vs The Colossal Connection! man how ing over were Demolition!!!! I loved Demolition and still to this day the are one of my all time favorite tag teams. the fact that they won the tag titles at Wrestlemania just adds to their awesome (but actually rather short) legacy. The main even was just epic! I still think now that this match holds up incredibly well. While it may be the "smark" thing to do, to put down the Warriors in ring skills. As someone who grew up with the Ultimate Warrior as his hero I can say hand on heart that if there was ever a guy who had the "it" factor it was him and as a kid I was never once bored watching him in the ring. I think both him and Hogan did an amazing job in this match. I remember as a kid shouting at my grand parents TV when Hogan kicked out of the Ultimate Warriors finishing move as I knew what was coming next. But when Warrior pinned Hogan I was freaking out and going crazy!

Okay I'm Reviewing Wrestlemania 8 and X Because WM IX i already gave my thoughts on it Wrestlemania VIII Review Now if you didn't know but the Bushwhackers won the dark match.
1. El Matador vs Shawn Michaels(w/ Sherri): ** Meh 2. Undertaker(w/ Paul Bearer) vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts: *Not the worst, could've done better. 3."Rowdy" Roddy Piper(c) vs Bret Hart Intercontinental Championship:****1/2 MOTN 4. 8 Man Tag: DUD "I award you No Points and may god have mercy on your soul" 5. Ric Flair(c)(w/ Mr.Perfect) vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage(w/ Miss Elizabeth) WWF Championship: ***1/2 Abrupt finish, okay story line 6. Tatanka vs "The Model" Rick Martel: * NOPE 7. Money Inc(c) vs The Natural Disasters WWF Tag Team Titles:* wish Disasters would've won cleanly 8. Owen Hart vs Skinner: DUD 9. Hulk Hogan vs Sid Vicious: ** Crap Finish Glad Warrior Returned afterwards should've switched with the WWF Title Match as the Main Event
A Decent Mania I Recommend you watch Hart vs Piper, and Savage vs Flair, If you did't know The British Bulldog vs The Berzerker match was cancelled due to the timing of Hogan vs Sid. 6.5/10 Show
Wrestlemania X.
Once again Bushwhackers were in the dark match and lost to the Heavenly Bodies.
1. Bret Hart vs Owen Hart: ***** One of the best openers of Wrestlemania History if not The Best opener of Wrestlemania History.
2. Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon vs Doink and Dink The Clown: Why..Why.. you just had a good opener why. DUD.
3. Randy Savage vs Crush(W/Mr.Fuji) Falls Count Anywhere: * This is why Savage Left, watch this match and you will know.
4. Alundra Blayze(c) vs a Diva Jobber Womens Title: DUD.
5. The Quebecers(c)(w/ Johnny Polo AkA Raven) vs Men on a Mission Tag Team Titles: * Why for the past 2 or 3 years you've had a tag team count-out why!?
6. Yokozuna(c)(w/ Mr.Fuji and Jim Cornette vs Lex Luger WWF Title: ** You know it's freaking Luger and Yoko and The DQ Blah.
7. Earthquake vs Adam Bomb(w/ Harvey Wippleman):DUD
8. Razor Ramon(c) vs Shawn Michaels(c) (W/Diesel) Undisputed WWF Intercontinental Title Ladder Match: **** THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING A DISAPPOINTMENT LIKE ALL THESE OTHER MATCHES (SOBS) Alright this was an awesome match from the bottom to the top this was awesome. However it did cancel a 10 man tag no one cared about.
9.YokoSumo(c) vs Bret Hart WWF Championship: *** Yeah i liked the match why not, the finish was good the only way i think you should be Yoko anyway this is my opinion.
An Okay Mania better than the last year not how Savage should have left Hart vs Owen was a must see and so was the ladder match, the main event was fine, but all the rest were crappy so 7.25/10.

I have the Tagged Classics version of Wrestlemania VI where there music is not edited out or anything like that and it is just ing awesome! I wonder how Demolition would have played out had the Legion Of Doom not came into the WWF in the months after Wrestlemania.

easier to just copy and paste what I've previously posted, since my opinions haven't really changed. only going to post the ones I actually watch this year, though: WrestleMania III: After the huge success of the first two WrestleMania's, the WWE was left in a bit of a bind - how to make it "Bigger,Better,Badder!"... in response,Vince McMahon made his boldest gamble yet - he would place the event inside the Pontiac Silverdome, an arena with over 80,000 permanent seats, and the capacity for many thousands more on the arena floor. NO wrestling event up to that point had even attempted to fill a place that large. in fact,Vince was urged to move the date of the event back,as the Rolling Stones were there the week before, and the Pope was there the week after. it was felt that the marketplace simply didn't have enough money to support 3 massive events like this in a row. but Vince refused to budge, because he had his finger on the trigger of a loaded gun with a magic bullet. that bullet was a match no one ever imagined seeing in 1987,truly a "dream match" at that point in every sense of the word. a little match featuring Hulk Hogan, the unbeatable World Champion vs Andre the Giant, billed as undefeated for 15 years. and brother, did it grab he world's attention! and WrestleMania had the hook it needed to deliver 90,000 + into the Silverdome, drawing more than the Rolling Stones and The Pope. for such a huge event, literally the biggest event in wrestling history at that point, they stacked the undercard with some of the hottest feud's of the time. but they skimped on the celebrities this time, having only 3 - Mary Hart, Bob Uecker, and Alice Cooper. the wrestlers, the feuds, and the matches were the stars this time, the way it should always be! Hulk - Andre is what fueled the event, but the show-stealer was Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat in an incredible,fast-paced match for the Intercontinental Championship, and a feud that had a lot of bad blood. but all the top stars were on this card, showing off their wares in front of the largest audience the WWF had up to that point.like always, some matches/feuds were showcased better than others, but the event took on a life of it's own to the point that even the bad matches seemed exciting! it was also he first Mania offered not only on Closed-Circuit TV,but a limited PPV basis, which brought in even more revenue. while the first two Mania's were special,THIS was the one were WrestleMania not only became an event, but became THE EVENT of the pro wrestling world. it pushed the WWF and it's stars farther than anyone, anywhere ever could have imagined it going. just 2 years earlier no one would ever believe that a wrestling event could put 90,000 people in the seats. now...it was a reality. and the WWF would never look back again.

"Upon the examination of the galaxies of space, images begin to appear...Images of strange and powerful forces... But of all the forces in the Universe, the two most powerful - HULK HOGAN.... and THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR.... - prepare to explode....Champion vs Champion! Title for Title! IT'S THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE! IT'S WRESTLEMAAAAANNNNIIIIAAAAAAAA!" WrestleMania VI was a hell of an event! It was the first international Mania, it was the first time 2 Babyface's were in the Main Event, it was the first time 2 Championships were on the line in the same match, and it was the last WWF PPV appearance of Jessie "The Body" Ventura on commentary. and, again, minimal celebrity use. this Mania will always have a special place in my heart. I just...I just loved it! all the matchup's were solid from top to bottom and felt like they meant something. everyone brought their A-game to their matches (except the Bolsheviks, who got squashed), and the vibe, the energy from the crowd...it was just unbelievable! you could literally feel the excitement in the air while watching at home. I make no secret of my love to this day of Demolition,so their record-setting (at the time) 3rd Tag Team Championship win in the 2nd match of the night set me up for a great afternoon! and the after effect of Andre turning on Heenan and ending his career as a Face was not only satisfying, but it just felt right. you also had Mr. Perfect's first "official" on TV pin, the first ever mixed Tag Team match at Mania, and,of course, The Ultimate Challenge.... fans today don't realize just how unique, how special this was. you just really DIDN'T have 2 Faces go at it,much less the top 2 guys in the company. add in the intrigue of BOTH the WWF and Intercontinental Championships on the line , and you had one of the most anticipated, hyped, and crazy matches in WWF history! and since the Warrior was - at the time - my favorite singles competitor, seeing Hogan cleanly pinned and Warrior ascend to the level of World Champion just put a capper on the whole day! Mania VI was always my favorite Mania, and still remains so to this day. funny note - I remember when watching it live,at one point the Million Dollar Mn gets up at gestures to the crowd that Jake The Snake is "finished" , and the crowd gives out this HUGE roar, and my friends and I were like "What the hell?! they LOVE Dibiase??!!"...of course upon subsuquent rewatchings,it was because the crowd was doing the wave,so they were basically cheering for themselves. but I always remember that moment, thinking Canadian fans must be weird or something, cheering for Dibiase! LOL!

1992 was the beginning of a transitional period in the WWF. new stars were rising, old stars were leaving, and into this fray came "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, arguably the greatest of all time. an the defending WWF World Champion going into WM 8. and we were on the cusp of the greatest "Dream Match" of all time, the one EVERY wrestling fan had dreamed of - Flair vs Hulk hogan, with the title on the line,at the biggest show of the year. like printing money, baby! EXCEPT...it didn't happen! it was booked, but a number of rumored factors would change nearly half the card. the ORIGINAL match lineup was: WWF Champion Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan Sid Justice vs The Undertaker Intercontinental Champion Roddy Piper vs Bret Hart Randy Savage vs Jake Roberts in a Loser Leaves WWF Match Tag Team Champions Money,Inc. vs Legion of Doom Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty ..depending on what you hear, the card was changed because of poor house show reception for Hogan-Flair, the inability to keep the extremely popular Undertaker heel, LOD's Hawk and Jannetty failing a drug test, and Sid being promised the main event in his contract. WHATEVER the reasons were,we didn't get that card. but for how quickly things got changed around, I actually like this Mania, and felt it came off pretty good.there were some fun matches, Bret-Piper was a classic, Flair-Savage was great as well, and the event had a big feel atmosphere, and was the last big "Arena Show" for Mania for many, many years.there was also a British Bulldog vs The Berzerker match that never happened due to time. and it also had the smallest celebrity presence at a Mania up to that time. then, there's the main event controversy. for the first time, the WWF Champion DIDN'T appear in the last match/main event spot. that went to Hogan vs Sid, a plodding, painful affair that featured a botched ending. but in spite of this, the PPV still ended on a positive note with the surprise return of the previously fired Ultimate Warrior.but it truly was the "last hurrah" of the 80's WWF Generation, and would be Hogan's last appearance for the company for nearly a year. Hulkamania was quickly running out of steam, and it was almost time for a "New Generation" to take over...
