I Received my ring this afternoon and when I tried to put it together..these hooks aren't open enough to clip the pole and or the ropes. I tried to carefully open it up alittle to only have 2 of them snap on me. These are the cheapest clips made. I emailed the company to see if they have replacements but was also wondering if there was another option. Has anyone else ran into this issue and if so..is there another double hook I can use that might be better than these parts? thanks, **Update** I emailed WCT cust. service and they are sending me out 6 new pieces. Awesome customer service!

As someone has has two ASRs and an ESR, the hooks do fit on the ring properly. The open end hooks onto the ring post. The closed end is for the ropes. It is difficult getting the rope in, but it is possible. If you try and pry one end open more, it will snap. DO NOT PRY THEM OPEN. I'm sure if you contact Wicked Cool Toys customer support line and explain what happened to them in a NICE (because most people are rude and accusatory) and respectable way they will send you a replacement hook.
The ropes do fit in the small hook, I assure you. You just have to really try and force the rope into place, but be careful that you're not stretching the ropes or they may break. (Getting them on the thick RSC ropes is a chore, however.) Once all the hooks are attached to the ropes, then you can hook the open ends to the ring posts. They do attach to the posts relatively easily (I hook and unhook them often). I promise you the hooks in your picture look EXACTLY like all of mine.
And of course, once all the ropes are hooked in place to the ring posts, then you attach the turnbuckle pads.

Thanks for the info. I'll give WCT a call tomorrow and see what they say.
one of the hooks I had, there was no way to slip the ropes in. All but 2 were perfect and fit on with any issues. One of the hooks was basically touching the other section, leaving not even the slightest gap. Most likely a manufacturing defect.
