I know I might complain a little from time to time, but I've gotta give some props to Mattel on their latest batch of protos. I think for the first time ever over half of their scans are good and fairly realistic! I'll be getting more figures this time around. Thanks Mattel.

It's a shame the budget is smaller than it once was in a time of such good scans. I think Breeze's is the best scan produced by Mattel.

I dont collect Basics, except to use the parts and the occasional Basic that really catches my eye. That Basic 51 set is crazy good and I think I'll grab every one and keep them as is.

I agree, their work continues to improve. I think the basic shapes have always been roughly there, some of their sculptors would put far less effort into detail which is critical. These new ones have lots of sharp detail as well as subtle shapes. Master class work on guys like Neville.
Also, the biggest improvement in terms of Mattel has to be Divas. Remember when they were all kind of weak? Some of the best things shown yesterday were Divas like AJ and Nikki. And of course, recent ones like Paige, Brie, and Summer stand out.

The majority of Mattels scans are fantastic, the paint apps let most of them down. However, I agree with the improvements. The latest batch shown at super toy con where amazing, the Ambrose laughing face and Breeze's basic stand out for me.

Their scans have improved greatly, thankfully. Some of their older scans are just awful, but we've been given a lot of really impressive scans lately. Major props to Mattel.

They'll look good on the shelf out of the box. But as far as playing and posing, they still have to figure something out with the legs. Spread them out more so power bombs are an option. But I get that there basics and a lesser quality. Im pretty much nitpicking. But that Tyler Breeze basic has me wanting an Elite of him something fierce.

The diva scans always seem to be the worst but this round of Divas are spot on in my opinion

Awesome scans everywhere. Breeze, AJ, Bo, the list goes on. (Not too fond of Hulk's new goofy scan tho but nobody is perfect not even Mattel lol)

Have to agree for sure. Mattel's headscans have exponentially improved to the point that they are even doing an incredible job with divas and swagger who all seem to be the most difficult ones to get done right. Yesterday was an incredible showing and I hope they only continue to improve, big props to the design team. I just hope that poor paint apps and colour choice (particularly for hair and facial hair) does not let them down. I wish they'd paint the pupil in the eyes too, that little spot of white would probably lift them that extra bit more.

I was very impressed with the showing. I did not expect to see much really but was pleasantly surprised by what we saw. This is a exciting time for the line.
