I was never able to get my hands on a Classic Superstars Crush, so I wouldn't know.

It sounds more like the issue that the figures will get over time, especially if stored wrong. Were you the original owner of these pieces, and if so, how do you store them? I bought a huge lot of Jakks figures from a guy who had his in his garage. They were sticky. Once I wiped them down and put them in my temperate closet or on display they have been relatively fine. The plastic they used seems to have a weird degradation in temperature shifts.
