VELOCITY PRE-SHOW
Tommy Dreamer vs Perry Saturn
To kick off the night in Daytona Beach, Florida, Tommy Dreamer squared off against Perry Saturn. This match started off slow, mostly with kicks, punches and chops going back and fourth between both men. About 2 minutes or so into the match, Saturn got the advantage over the man who will be in the main event at Defying Lines facing 5 other men. After a missed clothesline by Saturn, Dreamer hit a Swinging Back Neckbreaker to attain the advantage. Dreamer then took a risk and went to the top turnbuckle, but it did not pay off. Perry was well aware what was happening and hit a beautifully executed dropkick. Saturn then went for the pin but only got a 2 count. Saturn then picked up Dreamer and delivered a Double Underhook Powerbomb and again went for the pin but Dreamer then kicked out after 1! Saturn could not believe what he was seeing so he set up Tommy for his finisher, The Death Valley Driver. Then while Saturn had Dreamer on his shoulders, Tommy countered into the Dreamer Driver, his version of the Death Valley Driver. Saturn hit the mat with such force, he very well could have broken a bone. Dreamer then covered Saturn and got the pin fall. After a hard fought victory, Dreamer celebrated with the crowd. Tommy Dreamer will be one of the 6 competitors in the elimination match at Defying Lines for the Undisputed Championship, look for the results!!!
Winner- Tommy Dreamer
An interview was conducted with Lance Storm, the newest member of the Smackdown brand. He stated that he will be in a Battle Royal on Smackdown to determine the last man that will be in the main event at the Pay Per View. He guaranteed victory then walked away.
Orlando Jordan vs Chuck Palumbo
Orlando Jordan won a contract to WFE last week after defeating Funaki. But this week he had to prove it was no fluke. Even through he dominated Funaki last week, Chuck Palumbo is no easy opponent. The match started with a tie up and Palumbo got the better of it. He then put Jordan in a vicious headlock. Knowing he was in trouble, Orlando pushed way from Chuck and hit a Running Over Shoulder Powerslam. He tired for the cover but Palumbo wouldn't go down that easy. He kicked out after 1, got up, bounced off the ropes and hit a Spinning Elbow. That took Orlando off his feet. Then Palumbo went up to turnbuckle and as Jordan was getting up, he hit a Top Rope Shoulderblock. This, once again, took Orlando down. Then Chuck hit The Italian Drop which is a modified Fallaway Slam. Finally went for the cover but Orlando kicked out. And just as Palumbo picked up Jordan, he swatted his hands away and went right into his special, The Blackout, a Complete Shot, and went for the cover but it was not to be. Chuck kicked out, got up and went for The Jungle Kick but Orlando grabbed his foot and spun him around. Then he hit another finisher, Black Ice, which is a Sitdown Shoulder Jawbreaker. He went for the pin and got it. And that fast, the match was over. The newcomer had once again proved that he really does deserve to play with the big boys in the WFE.
Winner- Orlando Jordan
An interview was conducted with another rookie, Alex Rodz and his new manager Rico. Rico did most of the talking and stated that Rodz is the next big thing and that he will prove it on Smackdown next week. Check out next weeks results to see what happens!
Light Heavyweight Championship- Spike Dudley (C) vs Paul London vs Shannon Moore
When you add Cruiserweights, a Triple Threat Match and the championship, you know its going to be a good fight. The men that have been partners over the past 2 weeks faced off against each other in this match and had no problem at all with it. London's comments before the match were "Yeah we're friends but we both will do whatever we can to win gold and if that means hurting our bodies or each other, then so be it." The match started with Moore and London shaking hands, then both of them going after Spike. First Shannon Moore hit the Bottom's up, then Paul London hit a Swinging Side Inverted Neckbreaker. Then Moore bounced off the ropes and hit a Spinning Wheelkick and as soon as Spike got up, he was hit with multiple Northern Light Suplexes by London. Spike was picked up by both men and then London and Moore dropkicked the Dudley at the same time. London then made a mistake by pumping up the crowd. Moore took advantage of this situation by trying to German Suplex Paul off the turnbuckle he was on, but London tried to fight him off with elbows to the side of the head. Then all of the sudden, Spike came up behind both men and grabbed Moore by both legs and had him in the position of a Powerbomb, and then he hit it. But Moore was still holding onto London in the position of a German Suplex so when Spike hit the Powerbomb on Moore, Shannon carried London over too with a German Suplex off the top rope! Every man was down. They all started stirring at the count of 8 then they all hit punches on each other. Spike was then thrown over the top rope by Moore and Shannon pro ceded to do a running backflip over the top rope. Then London followed Moore with an even more suicidal move. After bouncing off the ropes he hit a London Star Press on Dudley and Moore. Instantly London was on his feet and the arena in Daytona Beach went nuts! He threw both men back into the ring and went for the pin on Moore who took more of the impact of the move. He only got a 2 count so he went to Spike and got the same results. Then he saw that Shannon was getting up so he hit a Standing Backflip Dropkick on Moore and landed on Spike who was directly behind him. He almost got a 3 count but didn't quite hit the move with enough force. So he picked up Spike and went for a Superkick but Spike grab his foot, spun him around and hit a headbutt to the chest. Then he hit a Flying Clothesline and London fell out of the ring. Moore made his way to the top rope and was looking for a double axe handle smash but Spike saw it coming and kicked him in the chest. Then he hit the Dudley Dog and got the 1, 2, 3 to retain his title.
Winner and Still Champion- Spike Dudley
