That was nasty! He was in dire need of a new finisher, so I hope he keeps it. Maybe that was the missing piece to the puzzle?

Smart move having him do it there. Now he's trending on Twitter and he's about to be on WrestleMania. It looked great.

Wow that made Punk's look like crap. Itami strikes with his knee harder and faster, makes the move look more effective.

I figured we were going to see it tomorrow but that was God damn amazing. Right crowd to do it for imo.

Itami's GTS is so much better as Punk just looks like him dropping his opponent onto his knee, whereas Itami's shows him driving his knee onto his opponent. I'm really looking forward to WrestleMania to see him in the battle royal.

I always loved Punk doing the GTS but it just irked me that he never learned how to do it. That was legit.

that was great, but its more about the guy selling it too....lets see him hit it like that on Harper or Ryback or Wade Barrett... that also being said, didn't Punk say that he used that move as a "tribute" anyway. pretty sure back in 2006 not a single soul walking this earth could have predicted Itami coming to the WWE, and lets be realistic here PLENTY of finishing moves have been duplicated over the years. Punk actually modified it, Punk alot of the time tried to hit guys in the HEAD with his kee, Itami does it more to the body so the guy doesn't have to try and sell his head by falling back immediately this is a perfect example when he throws HHH up, HHH tries to land on his feet so he can take the knee to his face/head area. so Punk has to lift his knee higher and it didn't always work out the best. it's still a good move and if the right guys take it the right way Itami could use that to his advantage. Just wonder how much comparison it will get to Punk instead...because i dont recall anyone ever talking about Itami (KENTA) when Punk was doing his version

Everything about it was great. Loved the way Breeze sold it too.

I've never been a fan of the move, but why is everyone hating on Punk? Depending on who took the move, there's really not a whole lot of difference.

I wish he could actually use it as his real finish. But who knows, weirder stuff has happened in the past.

That pop was awesome. I really hope he does it on TV (maybe waiting until the next live special) then transitions to it being his regular finish. There might be a little backlash from WWE only fans, but if they explain that he created the move, that would fade pretty quickly. My only real concern is when he hits the main roster, as a lot of those fans look for any opportunity to chant for Punk, so who ivented the GTS may not matter.
Either way, I love the move and hope he keeps doing it.
