The outcome only makes sense if the Sting/Triple H feud continues. If Sting doesn't ever show up again when Triple H is abusing his power, then this entire thin was for nothing and it accomplished nothing. Shaking Sting's hand and then burying him an hour later didn't make any sense. Shaking Sting's hand and ending the feud only make sense if Triple H ends the authority and turns face....otherwise Sting should either A) Continue to go after Triple H, or B) Like I said this whole thing was for nothing and accomplished nothing and the only purpose that this served was WWE putting the screws to the one WCW guy they never managed to get. Last night was basically Sting being ok with the fact that Triple H cheated, had 4 guys interfere on his behalf, and then crack him in the head with a sledgehammer....why would Sting shake his hand? In kayfabe and in real life, nothing that happened last night made sense. Like I said, it was basically just WWE reenacting themselves winning the Monday Night War at Sting's expense. Stuff like this was exactly what he was worried about for 14 years and I don't understand how he agreed to that. Triple H saying he beat Sting is burying him? Are you for ing real? He didn't say he "beat" Sting. He said he OWNED Sting. He shook the mans hand and then went out there and said he OWNED him.

I doubt we ever see Sting again. I honestly think they screwed him. I think they lured him into this company so that they could put the screws to the very last WCW guy they never were able to bury. Because Sting was the heart and soul of WCW and as long as he never did business with WWE, a little part of WCW was still alive and untouched. So I think they lured him in with the promises of a big payday and main stream exposure, they probably promised him Undertaker next year, and probably told him he was going to win the match at first. I seriously think the finish of that match was changed the day of Wrestlemania. None of this DX/nWo stuff was ever eluded to in the build up, and the first time we heard of it being a no DQ match was when Lilian Garcia said it moments before the match. Sting resisted coming to WWE for 14 years because he was worried about how they would use him....how he allowed last night to happen is beyond me. If he was going to come to WWE and LOSE at Wrestlemania, he should have just lost to The Undertaker LAST NIGHT. Realistically, the was no reason for Undertaker/Bray Wyatt to fight, and all it did was hurt Bray. We'll probably never see Sting again in WWE. Before Mania yesterday they probably told him that plans changed, Triple H was going over, WM32 was off the table, and tonight was it. He couldn't refuse to work or he'd get sued and lose all that money, so it was what it was. I truly believe that. I see no other reason why any of this happened. He could have come in and got buried 14 years ago, and he would have had a long enough WWE career after that to where he would have been able to eventually be on top, like Jericho and Booker T. Last night was not the payoff that I've been waiting for these past 14 years.

i would've been fine with him losing if it was a well fought battle - but the nwo and dx played way too big of a role, and it took away far too much from the match. oh well.
as for where he goes? i'm as clueless as the rest, the loss was a pretty major hit to him - he needed that win.

Last night on RAW, Sting sounded really upset. He sounds like he really wants to be a part of WWE and he really wants to be able to contribute, but he doesn't think that WWE is going to give him that opportunity. I think he finally realized that they brought him in to bury him. He did the job for Paul McMahon and now they have no more use for him.
I mean, they couldn't even have given him 5 minutes on RAW? They had to do that on the WWE Network? And I'm not saying they should have brought out Undertaker, because nothing is gained by announcing a WM32 match this early, even though some interaction would have been nice.
But you would think that they could have come up with something a little more gracious of a send off than having him insulted by Bo Dallas on the Network.
Seems like WWE is doing this to spite Sting. They wanted him all these years and he refused. The sad part is they probably wouldn't have buried him 5-10 years ago....but he waited so long that now they are really sticking it to them because now it's HIM that wants to be in WWE and WWE holds all the power.
Bottom line....for his legacy, he needs a win in WWE. If he never shows up again or he only wrestles at WM32 and loses to Undertaker, it will be a stain on his career. Besides the money that Steve Borden received for this debacle, this has hurt the legacy of STING. I think at the end of the day, his legacy would have been better if he stayed as the one guy that never came to WWE, instead of being one more schmuck that ate the pin to Paul McMahon.

Still such a deflating moment. HHH wins yet another feud he didn't need to win.
An JRs comments on the match can kiss my ass. He must be blinded by the darkness inside Vince's bunghole if he really thinks that.....because he has finally climbed right up there.
Wrong result folks plain and simple. How anybody can defend it is beyond me. Also I thought I hated the piece of sh*t Cole before? by I really despise him now. People can say Vince was spoon feeding him all they want....but he was RELISHING taking a sh*t on Sting during this match.

Haven't posted on here forever, but I thought I'd check to see what the general response to this match was. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that it was the wrong move to put HHH over.
I just don't understand what Triple H, or the WWE, gains by bringing in Sting and having him lose his first match. Not to mention the match was just a mess. I really was enjoying it until the whole WWE vs. WCW thing started. Sure, it was cool to see DX vs. the NWO, but it just made no sense and wasn't needed in the match. This should've never been about WCW vs. WWE; Sting even said it wasn't about that. Instead, Vince had to stroke his ego yet again and make it the one thing it should have never been. I don't care what J.R. says: the wrong man won Sunday night.
As for last night, it was very disappointing to see Sting bumped to the Network in a segment that really accomplished nothing. Part of me hopes that Sting will have another match, and another part of me is disappointed he finally caved to the WWE only to be used terribly.
We'll see what happens in the coming months, but color me disappointed for the time being.

I always wanted Sting in WWE, I was always interested in the character and seeing how he played out when he finally made the jump, but like many it was the damp patch how the match was booked and ended
I thought the build was pretty solid until the go home show and when HHH didn't get the upper hand as he hadn't throughout the feud I thought he may win at Mania. I was in to the match and like many have said adding the run ins soured it.
HHH didn't need to go over in this, I kind of felt like even HHH's entrance upstaged Sting a bit.
Although never being about WWE vs WCW they booked it that way and of course Vince would never have WCW go over.
Sting still is an attraction, he looked like he could still go and like he wants to be a part of something.
The post Raw segment was throw away and showed little indication of anything happening in the future, I for one hope it isn't the last we see of him.

There are lots of ways Sting can contribute to WWE going forward. Public appearances, that sort of thing. The two alone can make alot of money, but together, they can make tons more. Sting will be with WWE for the duration, I think.

I'm even more disgusted now that I checked it out a 2nd time. UGH UGH UGH. Also if they needed to make HHH look "strong"(when doesn't he?) for Rock next year there was 100s of opportunities to do so over the next year.

It was really nostalgic, but not everything it could have been. I enjoyed everything that happened during the match, but thinking about it later on was disappointing.
Sting should have won, and I agree that it's not that fair to Sting.. But thinking this was some screw job, that they dropped a new plan on him the day of Mania is kinda silly..

Sting being bumped from RAW to the Network & insulted by Bo Dallas was the final straw for me. I'm officially "taking a break" from WWE. Make fun of me, or whatever. I was still scratching my head about Daniel Bryan being in the IC Title picture. I really, really wondered WHAT Arnold Schwarzenegger ever did for WWE to earn a place in the Hall of Fame.... The mistreatment of Sting is my breaking point.
I loved, loved, loved the WrestleMania 31 match, even the DX/NWO stuff, up until the ending.... and the handshake made me want to throw something through my TV. Triple H didn't need the win, and it was NOT the right thing to do for business. No one on this forum will ever convince me otherwise. And he sure didn't deserve Sting's handshake. I wonder what went through Sting's head when he shook Hunter's hand.
Sting's treatment on Monday night has made me want to stop watching, so I will, for now. Not watching RAW next week, or the week after - I need a break. I have (good) tickets to Payback, so I'll start watching again after Extreme Rules to see what's going on for the PPV.... I don't have high hopes. I sincerely hope I'm surprised when I attend the PPV.
TNA sucks too, but at least they've been making an effort lately..... the EC3 VS. Spud match a few weeks ago was great, so I'm going to give TNA a try for a bit...
I'm officially tapping out, for now..... I'll be back, but I just need to step away from this for a while.

Only Paul McMahon could sit out for almost a year an then book himself over a former unified UFC World Champion. Brock beat him at SummerSlam and Extreme Rules....but he ate the pin on the grandest stage of them all. Ridiculous.

For a start, Not sure if you're trying to look cool with "Paul McMahon" but It's not working. If that's your logic, why would Sting sit out for so long, never be in WWE then come in and beat one of the biggest names in WWE? That would be ridiculous.

Okay - so if they were going to bring Sting in & have him lose, why didn't they have him get beaten by a younger superstar who would benefit from the win? Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Zigger, Cesaro, Rusev.... any of these guys could have beat Sting & it would have enhanced their career. Triple H didn't need the win. But he sure did take it. Bringing Sting into WWE after a 14 year wait - only to job to HHH was an ego booster, plain & simple.

Just some of the posts here are beyond stupid. The theory's some people come up with just because they don't agree with a result on a television show is actually sad.

If that's your logic, why would Sting sit out for so long, never be in WWE then come in and beat one of the biggest names in WWE? That would be ridiculous. Because this is pro wrestling, and good guys lose the battles but win the war,....unless you were from WCW. And unlike WWE was trying to make us believe, no, Sting has NOT spent the last 14 years in hiding pissing into mason jars and saving plastic baggies filled with fingernail clippings. Sting has been wrestling regularly for the last DECADE in TNA. But WWE thinks nobody watches anything other than WWE and that we aren't intelligent enough to have knowledge of anything or anybody that doesn't live in their BUBBLE known as the WWE Universe. And I don't know if your question is in real life or kayfabe, but I'll answer it both ways. Kayfabe, Sting could be out for so long and realistically win his first WWE match because he's a legend. He's one of the best ever, and the entire storyline behind the Sting character ever appearing in a WWE ring was because he was trying to stop Triple H from being a power abusing cancer to the WWE just like the nWo was to WCW. So for the Sting character to LOSE to Triple H at Wrestlemania and Triple H is still a heel and then Sting comes out the next night and says "oh well, I was just happy to be there"......and the fact that the nWo, Sting's mortal enemies from WCW, showed up in his defense....the whole thing made no sense. In real life, the reason why Steve Borden didn't go to WCW, by his own admission, was worried about how his character would be used. He saw how guys from WCW and other wrestling organizations went to WWF/WWE and had their previous legacies IGNORED, and at 42 years old when WCW went out of business, he didn't feel like having to start from scratch...the older he got, the less he wanted to have to come in and basically be treated like a nobody or an outsider. Sting is 56 years old. He's been trying to retire since 2004. He does not have that many matches left in him. This is not my opinion, Sting has said this himself. I don't think there was a reason for him to lose at Wrestlemania. Like I said, this was just dick swinging by WWE so they could toot their own horn and reenact winning the Monday Night War. It ate at Vince McMahon and Triple H all these years that they never got Sting, both because he always REFUSED to do business with him, but because they were also unable to ever do his character any damage. The McMahon's take GREAT PRIDE in the fact that they put WCW out of business and that they were able to take some of the biggest WCW stars and emasculate them on WWF/WWE programming. But Sting was the heart and soul of WCW. And as long as Sting was never in the WWE, a small part of WCW was left alive and untouched. Now, they finally got him. They can finally say that after 14 years, the last big star from WCW was beaten at Wrestlemania. And WWE can say that not only did they beat Sting, but they killed a huge part of his legacy. People might not want to admit this, but a HUGE part of Sting's legacy WAS that he was the one guy who NEVER came to WWE. Vince McMahon always got what he wanted and they always wanted Sting but it was STING who kept turning them down. How dare ANYBODY turn down Vincent Kennedy McMahon, right? And that ate at Vince, that ate at Triple H, and they lured him to the WWE so they could finally kill his legacy. Why did Triple H have to beat Sting? Why did we even have to get Triple H vs. Sting in the first place? If Sting was ok losing, why didn't they just do Sting vs. Undertaker THIS YEAR? Because let's be honest, losing to Undertaker did NOTHING for Bray Wyatt, and you won't see Undertaker again for a year, so they can't build on it. If all WWE wanted was for Sting to come in for one match and lose, FOR THE FANS, it should have been to The Undertaker. But Triple H has a ENORMOUS ego, so he wanted to be the one to pull the trigger. If WWE was really about the fans and really about what's best for business, Daniel Bryan would be in the Main Event picture and we would have got Sting vs. Undertaker THIS YEAR. People can say it's all part of the plan, Taker and Sting are going to Wrestle next year, they want it to happen in Dallas, yadda yadda yadda.....well, I wouldn't bet on that. By the time WM32 rolls around, Taker will be 51 and Sting will be 57....a lot of crap can happen between now and then and one guy gets injured training or practicing and the match is OFF. WWE had Undertaker and Sting both signed, healthy and on the same card.....there is no reason in the world why it shouldn't have happened THIS YEAR. But like I said, this wasn't about business, this wasn't about the fans, this was about the WWE and Triple H finally getting the upper hand on Sting. And it didn't need to happen. Nobody wanted to see this match and it made no sense for Sting to come to the WWE to help Team Cena and then get Dolph Ziggler, Erik Rowan and Dolph Ziggler their jobs back if this whole thing was just going to turn into WWE burying WCW.

I was in Levi's Stadium and when Lillian made the No DQ announcement you could just hear a collective groan.
People knew right there Sting was going to lose, or at least I did.
The entire match was booked in Hunter's favor and I still cannot believe he couldn't put Sting over.
And I was also at Raw last night and completely agree with the post above.
Sting sounded pissed off and I would have been too.

I wonder if everyone bitching about Triple H like he always wins, realizes he hasn't won a match since Wrestlemania 29. Not even remotely relevant......I'm stunned that you think it could be. If he was wrestling full time(or even part time) yeah....but he isn't and wasn't.
