Are there any figures you think the basic version turned out better than the elite ? For me Tensai is a perfect example.  I hate the elite headscan, the body looks klunky and the trunks are inaccurate on the the elite, they look more like shorts than trunks. The basic version however looks amazing! Awesome figure. Thoughts ? |

All Jack Swagger figures. His elites are WAY too small. I prefer his basics over his elites by far.

I hate basics. Any figure with the inability to receive a powerbomb is useless.
Elites > basics all day long.

I like Basics.. There are really nice looking ones and it's cool to get different attires.

Basics have better body size as far as Daniel Bryan , Chris Jericho etc. Their elites are too thin.

Pretty much all Basics are better than Elites due to the unsightly ab-crunch. Don't get me wrong, the leg articulation on an elite is far superior to a basic, but in terms of pure aesthetic appeal, the basic wins every time. The ab-crunch is hideous and completely ruins great figures.
A Basic/Elite hybrid, with Basic torsos and elite legs (Minus the unnecessary double knee joint) is the way forward.

I see no problem with the ab crunch. Removing it would just take away articulation. Yeah I like the ab crunch as well. I like the double jointed knees too, but whenever they give somebody those leg sleeves it just makes them totally useless. Elites to me are always better except a few rare cases like that Tensai, but even then it's only better for display. If was a kid having matches, or an animator or pic fed guy the basic articulation is very limiting. |

Best part of basics imo is more variety & cheaper, but I still don't buy them for the most part, once in a while I get bored & convince myself, then I usually regret it and end up selling them. Like I'm dying for an elite Rollins, I bought a basic just to hold me over.

cena is way better in basic form imo I prefer his elites. Buying a basic Cena feels like a waste of $10. I only have 1 single carded basic, and it was '07 Cena. Every other basic Cena I have is from a multi-pack. I like elite Cena's because they normally have a cloth shirt. |
