Basics all day, elites seem flimsy and I have never had a basic leg fall off. I can't say the same for elites. Plus the toys are for my kids, so I'm not forking 20 dollars for my kids to bang up unless it has accessories we want. Then the figure will be sold, traded or given away.

Any basic that has the Daniel Bryan/Miz/Punk etc. torso.
Also, Cody Rhodes post Elite 13. Those arms are ridiculous on elite 20. I hope to high heaven that they don't put those arms on Stardust.

Yes the basic Tensai has a better shade of red paint. The kneepads look better and the trunks are accurate.
but all elites are better.
you can't discount the fact that the elite Tensai comes with awesome entrance gear. Not to mention all the realistic poses you can get out of him.

I'm in the middle I liked basic because it a way to get figure you probably won't see in the elite line , then the elites have all the details and have certain improvements you can't have in the basic line

Pretty much all Basics are better than Elites due to the unsightly ab-crunch. Don't get me wrong, the leg articulation on an elite is far superior to a basic, but in terms of pure aesthetic appeal, the basic wins every time. The ab-crunch is hideous and completely ruins great figures. A Basic/Elite hybrid, with Basic torsos and elite legs (Minus the unnecessary double knee joint) is the way forward. What you're saying is a matter of preference/taste. I prefer the ab crunch look of the elites torso. I feel the basic torso looks too rigid and puts the figure in an unnatural stance. The double knee joints are important to me as well. Lets the figure pose in more natural looking ways. I've put basic knees on elites and the legs became too rigid for my liking.

I'm aware that it's a matter of preference/taste, which is why I stated my preference/taste. How can double jointed knee's look more natural? We only have one knee joint.

Elites>Basics although it kind of shocks me that basics can actually get there leg back further than elites. Lame...

The only ones that come to mind are Tensai and Swagger. I'd probably include Hogan as well.

People that prefer basics over elites are people you don't need in your life!

The Kane hybrid is the coolest figure ever. The ab crunch is useless in my opinion and makes certain torsos look really whack. Basic torso & elite legs make the coolest figures.

I enjoy the articulation of Elites, so IMO it is tough to find a figure where the Basic counterpart is better. There are plenty of Basics where the wrestler had better attire than most if not all of his Elite figures like
Summerslam Heritage Sheamus in green B18 Cody Rhodes in white/black B35? Damien Sandow in white TT9 DH Smith in white/pink BP Ultimate Warrior in USA attire

Being honest, I have always preferred basics, much more cost effective and there have been many better than their elite counterparts such as the first Dean Ambrose elite, plenty of big wrestlers like Tensai, Mark Henry etc and some smaller wrestlers who Mattel have a hard time capturing their torsos.

The Elite Flashbacks of Triple H and Billy Gunn had terrible headscans.
I bought the Basic (Summerslam Triple H & modern Billy Gunn) just to switch it out.

I like the variety of basics more than anything. bigger dudes look alot better in basic form, torsos don't look messed up.
One thing I know, basic brock looks ridiculously bad next to elite brock.

I probably should have mention in my original post that when I said the basic is better than the elite I was meaning just looks-wise, off course the elites are better for play and figure animations no question about that. I was just meaning as regards the overall looks of the figure for display purposes

Two more that come to mind are Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes. Their basics don't have the super jacked arms and for the most part, the basics are more colourful.
