Hideo is a tricky one, I'd say right now after a slow start in NXT he is starting to pick up steam and when it's time to debut him onto the main roster it could be a tricky one for him to get over due to his limited English. I'd debut him as a heel. Bryan is still IC Champion, Bryan is cutting a promo, Regal's music hits out comes Regal and claims he has a man from NXT that wants a shot at Bryan's IC title and out comes Hideo, Regal claims Hideo has spent years watching guys like Bryan stealing moves he made famous in Japan and can draw heat by saying a certain quitter stole a move that put many people to sleep. He puts over Hideo and claims that he is here to kick ass and win titles and on his debut on the main roster after a 25 minute match he beats Bryan to win the IC title with interference from Regal setting up Regal as his manager.

I would love to see William Regal manage him in a feud against Daniel Bryan.. That type of combo would tear the house down.

Yeah nice idea! I guess they'll have to do something similar to this where he just comes out and says 'my style is kick' and then have a good match. Doesn't need to be as a heel IMO. But I can't really put my finger on who he should feud with at the beginning...

I don't want to see him win any major championships, nor do I want him to be Main Eventing shows. Hideo doesn't have a whole lot of time to be on the Main Roster, but in that time I'd generally just like to see him put on good matches.

Have him come in as a heel talking about how half the roster including Bryan and Punk, stole moves and move sets he invented in Japan.

WWE should show a video package similar to the one from NXT last night where they show clips of him from NXT and Japan while guys like Daniel Bryan talk about him being an influence.
Then he debuts and works his way up to an IC title feud with Daniel Bryan where they put on 5 star matches and tear the house down.

Hopefully he doesn't turn out like Tensai if they bring him in as a heel or have him turn into Kung funaki or jimmy wang yang if he's a face

In a perfect world, he would be booked like he is in NXT where he's an excellent performer, and his nationality is of no consequence. Unfortunately, once you get to the main roster, you're dealing with the lowest common denominator. The last thing I'd want is Hideo getting "USA! USA! USA!" chants.
So, I'd turn the crowd's prejudice upside down and cast Hideo as a face who is being railroaded by the Authority because they believe that the WWE is far superior to the promotions in Japan and that Hideo may have been a star over there, but over here, he's not even a mid-card talent. They could insult him by initially booking him against "local talent" and then be forced to give him better and better opponents as he works his way up the ladder.
The only problem with that is that nobody wants to see Hideo vs. Big Show and Kane 1,000 times, so they would need to get some young talent over on the Authority's side to make it interesting.

I like this idea a lot. You wouldn't even need to add young talent to the Authority imo. You just have HHH or Kane book heel talent against Itami. They've done that kind of thing in the past. Use guys like Barrett or Luke Harper. Wherein the booking creates the perception that he's about to get stomped and he goes over the bigger guys. Maybe work his way up to Kane, then Big Show, and Rollins at some point. KENTA vs Tyler Black in ROH was absolutely incredible. So I would love to see WWE put them in the ring together.

Problem is it's so damn hard for asians to get over in WWE. I frankly can't think of many other than Taka. Funaki and Yoshi were comedy characters. So for a current day, older, Japanese wrestler to try to get over quickly...I say just build him up as a ridiculous technician that no one can seem to take out and put him in with Bryan, Rollins and other spectacular technicians and see what sticks.

So you guys are saying no Japanese stars beside tatsu and kai en tai? You want regal to be his ally/manager. You want him to kick the piss out of people?
Did y'all forget about Tajiri?

I'm glad someone brought up Tajiri. I do like the OP idea, would be a hell of a way to introduce him.
