I thought everybody was so proud of mattel for being "in scale" unlike jakks. Looks like both companies can't get it right

Earthquake does lack a fatty ponch, but damn what a head sculpt.
I"m curious to see how he looks next to Brodus Clay.

Mattel blew it and why didnt they add the red face ? Also like most mattel hes to skinny and by the way I like the Jakks one alot better not even close but then again I like a little larger than life look of the 80s WWF and by the way that DM hogan looks horrible almost greasy like that hardcore pawn guy .

John Tenta was very unhappy with the Jakks product because they made him too fat, and they did. Earthquake was not obese, he was a sumo athlete who was pretty agile for his size. I agree the Mattel figure is a little skinny for the period represented, he looks more to scale of a Wrestlemania X Earthquake. Still, it's a stunning figure.

I think some people have got the wrong idea about my opinion on this figure.
I didn't say that the details, headscan, and all around amazing look of the figure weren't good. They all look great.
I just think he's not quite big enough.

Exactly I cant believe some praise that head sculpt ? as most mattels lack detail and seem washed out but the eye problem is their too far apart which then wrecks the whole face as it causes attention to that flaw. |

Basically you have two options: 1. Jakks made figures slightly too big. 2. Mattel makes figures slightly too small. Choose which one of the two options you can live with and go for it! |

People really need to stop comparing Mattel scale to Jakks scale. They're not going to be the same. Its 2 completely different companies and nearly everything JAKKS did was out of scale.
The Mattel Earthquake is larger then the Matel Hulk Hogan....as in real life. The Mattel Earthquake is smaller then Mattel Yokozuna....as in real life.
The JAKKS Earthquake is larger then the Jakks Hogan....as in real life. The Jakks Earthquake is the same size as the Jakks Yokozuna, Rikishi, Wild Samoans, King Kong Bundy, Big Van Vader, Akeem, One Man Gang and Typhoon....None of which are even the same body weight.
Mattel's scale is accurate for Mattel & real life.

He's in scale, compare him to scrawny Goldust and Kane etc, mattel figures are just small.

I think it's pretty good. Love the sculpt in your pics. Way better and more accurate than Jakks.

Completely agree. He should be much fatter. Earthquake had a big fat gut and the figure doesn't show that.
The jakks fig is definitely better in this rare case.
