So, I was just checking out some pictures of E35 Earthquake, and as nice as the attire and headscan look, I really don't think Mattel have done his size justice. I'm stealing Nivro™'s pictures from his thread: I hate to be "that guy" who complains instantly, but does anybody else agree? I just think he looks too slim. Earthquake was huge. I've been saying this from day one when I saw Mattels. They make very scrawny figures. But I have learned on wfigs that I am wrong, these are all made exactly to scale.

I think the body sculpt looks great, one of the best Mattel has ever done IMO. It's possible it's slightly undersized though, I do get what you mean - it doesn't quite seem to portray the weight of Tenta how I remember either. But it's not far off IMO so I'm satisfied.
One thing I would say though is I think the headscan is only an average likeness to Tenta. It's not terrible by any means, but I definetely think it could be better. Hopefully we'll get another headscan down the line sometime.

No matter how much we try to treat them as collection pieces, they are made to be played with. If Mattel had made Earthquake any bigger I fear they prob would have given him a Brodus Clay torso, which would have been bigger but less articulated. Im wondering now though, is the EarthQuake Torso smaller than the Dusty Rhodes Torso? Or is it the same Torso?

Its different from Brodus and from Dusty The only other guys I know off the top of my head that use Dusty is Kamala and Rikishi

It's threads like this makes me wonder what's going to be nit picked about DM Sting. Before it was Razor, and now earthquake.

I'll chime in on this one
First of all I think this figure is amazing, my only nitpicking would be the painted skin tone on the chest as I hate painted skin tone but that doesn't bother me too much
As for earthquake being too small? Yes
His belly should be bigger really but I think otherwise the rest of the figure is in great scale. I think Mattel made the torso the size that it is though so they can get us more classic characters using that torso. They could have given him his own unique torso but likely he would be the only one to ever use it
That torso can easily be used for typhoon and I'm sure there's many other big guys who wore a double pronged singlet....

Honestly, Earthquake should have been much bigger.

I think he's fine. Mattel can't logistically create every individual figure 100 percent. Imagine the cost.

John Tenta was very unhappy with the Jakks product because they made him too fat, and they did. Earthquake was not obese, he was a sumo athlete who was pretty agile for his size. I agree the Mattel figure is a little skinny for the period represented, he looks more to scale of a Wrestlemania X Earthquake. Still, it's a stunning figure. His bmi definitely says he's obese Google "Derek Poundstone." He had BMI tests done, & he registers as obese even though you can see his abs. His ABS.

I find it awesome, maybe he is a little skinnier, but I'm afraid that If mattel would have made him bigger, he would seem too fat.

Tbh if Mattel made his stomach as big as it should be, he probably wouldn't stand up very well lol
I think everything else is to scale, his legs are twice as big as hogans, his arms are just smaller than hogans, he is just shorter than hogan, all accurate, his trunks are twice as big as hogans and his chest is bigger than hogans. The stomach could be a little bigger but at least we have a chance at guys like typhoon because this mold will be easily re used

I think it's fine. His gut could have been bigger but Mattel isn't going to make different sized guts specialized for all their big wrestlers.

You certainly couldn't see Earthquakes abs Nor could you feel your own jaw after John Tenta swatted you out of the Dohyo. He wasn't simply "Obese," he was a GIANT.I get your point, but John busted his ass to be good at what he did. Don't sell him short.
