I'm very confused, everyone goes nuts for Daniel Bryan yet no one's mentioned him once in this thread? I think it's because people have given up on the hope that Daniel Bryan will be the guy. |

Why do we need a top guy?
Say Cena sells 10,000 t-shirts a week at shows.
What if you had 5 or 6 others who were selling5-7,000 shirts. You're making more money, you have more star power. The company doesn't live and die by whether or not someone's knee goes out.

Not he's not "the guy". Nobody has been "the guy" since John Cena. CM Punk had a 434 day reign as WWE Champion and wasn't :the guy". I'm not saying this as someone who is like "BRYAN SHOULD BE THE TOP GUY". I'm just stating facts. John Cena has been the franchise player in the WWE for a long time now. Even if he's not the World Champion and even if he is in the mid-card, John Cena is the company's number one. |

One guy in the main event scene constantly?  that. Preferred it like the last bit of Attitude Era before the draft, there was Austin, Rock, Angle, Hunter, Taker, Kane, Jericho, and a few others getting chances all floating in and out of the main event. WWE could easily do that again, Reigns, Ambrose, Rollins, Bryan, Ziggler, Sheamus, Neville, Zayn, Owens, Itami, Bálor, Breeze, Wyatt, maybe Harper, possibly Barrett, Cody if they actually give him a chance, Rusev. That way one guy as Champion could feud with plenty of guys keeping main event of PPVs fresh without seeing the same thing again and again. |

People buy tickets to see WWE, not John Cena.
People will continue to buy tickets to see WWE, regardless of who is at the top.
It's not like the old days.

Yeah, CM Punk was never "the guy". He was WWE Champion for 434 days, but he still didn't get a main event match at Wrestlemania. Cena main evented that exact show. Cena has been "the guy" for 10 years now, and he will continue to be "the guy" for at least 5 more in my view.

Roman Reigns.....he's almost ready to be Cena right now. He comes out and cuts awful cheeseball goofy smiling promos while the whole crowd boo's and the WWE acts like everyone loves him. This is pretty much exactly what John Cena has been doing for the last 8 years!
I think they should turn Roman Reigns heel. He could be the next Rock if they did that. He should come out and just rip the fans and be like "you people think I suck? I'm not here to entertain you. I'm here to make money, win titles, and beat the crap out of my opponent as fast as possible and by any means necessary. If that doesn't entertain you, well that's just too damn bad".
Instead he's out there nursery rhyming and droping Vince McMahon-fed catch phrases and he sounds like he's reading off a cue card.....they just need to let him go out there and speak naturally from the heart. Rocky Miavia wasn't getting over until they let him go out there and rip the audience a new a-hole for not cheering him. Roman Reigns is probably frusterated too. They should let him speak his mind, at least it won't seem scripted.
