I watched a 2 Cold Scorpio vs Shane Douglas ECW match from A Matter of Respect 1996 the other day and I thought it was phenomenal.
Scorpio hit some amazing moves including doing a cartwheel and then kicking Douglas as he was standing on the ring apron.
It's a shame that he had a drug problem because if he didn't, I think that Scorpio would have really made more of an impact because his ECW work especially is vastly underrated.
Thoughts?

Shane Douglas powerbombed Scorpio on the ECW arena cement floor!!!
Let me say that again so everyone can let it sink in.
Shane Douglas, picked up Scorpio on the outside, and powerbombed him on the ECW arena cement floor!
Shane also slingshot suplexed Scorpio off the steel barricade!!
I just watched 2 Cold Scorpio today on the Vol. 3 ECW DVD that came out today and his match with Dean Malenko was a bit long but it was a solid match. The tag match with him and Malenko vs. Eddie and Taz where Taz breaks his neck was on it too and it was entertaining (for the most part, the broken neck part wasn't entertaining).
I liked Scorpio in WCW though. He and Bagwell made for a good tag team and had a lot of PPV wins all through 1993. But he was a natural fit for ECW, and then the WWE killed him with Flash Funk.

I liked him back when I was growing up, but was never really interested enough to look into the rest of his career. For his time though he was incredibly innovative and I'll give him props for that. He's still doing well with the indies though, and I heard he had an awesome match with Rickey Shane Page at AIW's Gauntlet for the Gold X earlier this year. I'm glad to hear he's still doing well considering his problems in the past.

2 Cold's awesome I hadn't heard of him having drug problems. Surely that didn't hinder his progress at all in ECW, as he held 5 titles there. Plus ECW didn't care if you were a druggie. His ECW stuff is for the most part great, he even managed to have a good TECHNICAL (gasp, I know, wouldn't expect this word in a sabu related sentence) match with Sabu. He went largely wasted in WWE, which is a shame. He had some good matches in WCW. But above all, those dance skills tho

That powerbomb on the concrete floor was sick and that slingshot suplex by Douglas off the steel barricade was also a cool move.
Scorpio took some legit rough, shoot bumps in that match and I'm surprised he didn't start shooting on Douglas back.

He was awesome. ..wcw and ecw is where he really shined. He admitted that he had a drug problem in wwf and that's what held him back. Such a great athlete.

I loved his ECW and WCW work. He was an innovative guy. He wasn't ever going to carry WWF/WCW but he was solid performer who entertained me.

Im a MUCH bigger fan of Scorpio's work from 2000-on. He matured and you could tell he was a great vet to work with younger guys.
His work in Pro Wrestling Unplugged with the likes of Devon Moore and Trent Acid was awesome.
He had some amazing matches in IWA-MS as well with the likes of Eddie Kingston, Roderick Strong, Chris Hero and Sami Callihan.
I met him a many times and he was always a great, respectful, and humorous guy. I'll take 2000-Now Scorpio over a 90's scorpio. He was so much better all around as a worker.

Him and Benoit used to have great matches during their first stint in wCw. I always enjoyed his work but he was never a favorite of mine.
