Opening video was pretty good. Nice little recap of what happened last week, which for me, literally was last week..
MVP being used is good. He has some really good raw potential. Hopefully you re-gimmick him though, because his outer space gangsta who comes out of an inflatable entrance gimmick is really lame. Harry Smith has always been good.
Nice little promo from Angle. Served it’s purpose.
Odd promo from Jericho.. He basically just changed his tights, even though his gear has more or less always been the same?
Haas and Benjamin attacking Tanaka. I was really hoping Tanaka would win the match. Something about a dude who has no problem power bombing his opponent into an “exploding pool” (and even I have no idea what that is, and I own the god damn tape!) to win a match appeals to me.. A Team Angle reunion is only good if you’re planning a few good technical marathon six man matches, perhaps even elimination rules..
Punk & Tanaka. THERE’S a team I wouldn’t mind seeing. Burning Hammer + Pepsi Plunge = Happy Me.
Poor Haas, didn’t even get to say anything L A decent promo, another one straight and to the point. No shenanigans from Angle. I like my Angle with shenanigans, tbh..
Dinsmore versus Punk. This is a match I wouldn’t mind seeing, as long as Dinsmore isn’t intellectually- disabled or a super hero. Excellent WCWA/Jannetty reference in there. Needed more coke, tbh. WELCOME TO CHICAGO MOTHER
ERS!!! Glad to see you’re expanding Punk beyond his normal WWECW routine moves. I miss Punk hitting top rope Pedigrees and Tiger Drivers..
Intense promo from Taz. I think Taz needs a manager, honestly. It’d be cool for Taz to just not speak, look like an angry mother
er, and just stand and stare, while someone else does all his speaking.
Buried Alive match.. Don’t think I’ve ever read a buried alive match.. Nor a stretcher match. I haven’t even seen a stretcher match in a good 10-15 years, since Steamboat versus Austin in WCW.. The career match can only be good one way, and you know what I’m talking about..
Sandman, the only longer, and more drunken, entrance than Nate Webb.
Sandman versus Homicide was a good brawl. I can’t say I was expecting Homicide to go over..
Main event was pretty good. You know what would have been good, perhaps even better though? After Sting requested the match, he just doesn’t show up, making it a 2 on 3 match. This would put Sting over as a mysterious and quite dickish individual. Then at the end of the match, he can just show up and beat the dog crap out of Kane, igniting the big in ring brawl at the end, but that’s just my opinion.
Overall, a pretty good show, a strong way to go home for the PPV. Can’t wait for WWC.
