As far as figures go, I can’t say I spent much. 2 of my figures, (Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock) I got with the kids sized Oval Intercontinental Championship Title Belt. I believe I got that set for $25, maybe $30 at the most, from Toys R Us. The 3rd and last Mattel figure I bought for my collection, I think I spent around $50, maybe $60, for the TRU Mr. McMahon exclusive. Now, whenever I go to the Pat-Cave / Fortress of Pat-titude and see these 2 display cases… I always see a grand…a grand display / a $1,000+ worth of Championship Title Belts. This doesn’t even include my Ultra Deluxe Undisputed WWE Championship Title Belt, which is about another grand. Point is, be happy. If you feel you spend too much, sell some of it to get some of the money back. If you have too much or don’t have enough room for new stuff, donate some of the old stuff. If you’re b!+c#!n6 just to b!+c#, then you’re probably just a b!+c#, b!+c#. *Creams jeans* To answer the question, I don't worry about it. I don't have kids. If I plan to someday then I will cut it out. Until then, my bills are paid and my bank accounts are padded and my vehicles run and so on....

Each month my bills are paid and there's food on my kids plates. I do spend quite a bit on figures but I always prioritize. I also work 40-60 hours a week so the way I see it, it's well deserved. My figure collection is therapeutic.

My figure collection is therapeutic. That's the way I look at it. I'm too damn fat, so I must be buying groceries and getting my bills paid first. lol
I do have a friend though who has no idea of prioritizing.
I remember seeing him at TRU a while back buying a crap load of figures. He had, at least, $250 to $300 worth in his cart. I remember thinking that I couldn't understand how he was buying so many at once, seeing as I know what kind of job he had (working clean up crew at Walmart), and when I said something about the sheer amount of stuff he was buying at once, he looked at me and said...
"I'll just let my truck payment go for another month."
I couldn't believe he was buying toys instead of paying his bills. Am I in the minority here thinking there is something seriously wrong with that?!
I saw him just the other day selling some of his Hot Toys figures to a local business who sells video games, figures, etc, for less than half of what he gave for them... because he had some bills to pay. He always does this, then turns around and buys more and more, simply to stuff them in a storage unit, or sell for a loss whenever a bill comes due.

Sometimes I just think back, and realize how much I've spent.
The figs that specially come to mind are amazon exclusive mick foley and wmxxx hbk.
My total for foley was around $70 for 4, and for 4 hbks I got them for around $60. But what are you gonna do. We all live life once so in going to enjoy it by doing stuff I love

Space is a big issue for me too... there's things everywhere, lol. I love all my toys/figures/collection though... it's my main hobby and brings me a lot of pleasure. The other day my dad said I could buy a nice new car if I sold a lot of my stuff - I told him I'd rather have all the figures! I dunno, man ... that 2016 Camaro is niiiiice tho !

There are times when something like this becomes an addiction, by reading this board...it's a big problem.

I've probably spent $1000 on Mattel WWE stuff. Probably more. I've only been collecting Mattel for about 3 years. But the stuff at my parents' house from when I was a kid? Man, when they retire and move, I am not looking forward to going through all that stuff. I never threw away/sold any of my childhood toys. The sheer amount of wrestling and Marvel stuff alone is staggering. That's not even including Star Wars, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, etc. I do not have the desire to sell any of that stuff for the sheer time it will take to do it all. Even in lots. Not to mention I probably can't bring myself to sell it anyway.

I should also mention, I expected that my fiancee' would want me to stop when we get married... but then she bought me Arn Anderson and DDP out of the blue, so... I think her reasoning is since I don't mind her obsession with clothes, she won't say anything about my obsession with wrestling toys.

I don't think about how much I've "spent" on toys, I focus on how much I "save". I'm a bargain hunter/deal finder. My wife on the other hand might focus on the other number a bit more...

Its not the amount ive spent that bothers me.....its the lack of what i have to show for it that does.

I could care less, honestly. The money's gone. Plus, as others have mentioned, at least I have somewhat liquid assets to show for it.
However, I will admit to the occasional daydream of having each figure I own offered to me one at a time and having the option of either keeping the figure or taking the cash I spent on it. Now that would be fun, and I'd probably walk away with a few grand while still keeping all of the figures I truly want.

Yes, I think about it all the time because I'm a new home owner and have higher priorities than action figures. That's why I sold most of my collection and made a small profit.
