I just finished moving into a new home and FINALLY got most of my figure collection moved in.
Tonight, as I was going through my WWE, Star Wars, and (most of all) 1500 plus GI Joe figures, I couldn't help but think about how much money I have spent on toys in my lifetime!
I have two stepdaughters... one starting college this year, and it hit me... I can almost guarantee that, if I had every dime I have ever spent on my toy collection, I could send not only her, but more than likely her younger sister, through college!
I love my collection, but that thought is almost enough to make me nauseous. lol

It doesn't really bother me or annoy me how much I've spent. I flip it round and think how much i'd make if I were ever to sell it because I'm certain I'd be in profit if I sold my collection.

I'm only just starting to think about it, space is a bigger issue for me. All the dupes I have lying around, and things I don't really want.
Been meaning to sell some stuff for ages, but I lack the time and motivation.

Space is a big issue for me too... there's things everywhere, lol. I love all my toys/figures/collection though... it's my main hobby and brings me a lot of pleasure. The other day my dad said I could buy a nice new car if I sold a lot of my stuff - I told him I'd rather have all the figures!

I work in the city. I pay half of my missus' car. She can't begrudge me going to the gym, and to Spurs once a fortnight in it!!

Yes. It's sickening. When I lived with my parents I would spend every dime of spare money I had on wrestling figures or nascar diecast. The figures have held their value quite a bit more and now that I'm married with stepkids, I'm selling everything I can make a profit on. I have $300 worth of classic figures scheduled to be picked up by my mail lady today.

Sometimes I do think about it. I could've saved so much money, I try not to think about it often.

As far as figures go, I can’t say I spent much. 2 of my figures, (Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock) I got with the kids sized Oval Intercontinental Championship Title Belt. I believe I got that set for $25, maybe $30 at the most, from Toys R Us. The 3rd and last Mattel figure I bought for my collection, I think I spent around $50, maybe $60, for the TRU Mr. McMahon exclusive. Now, whenever I go to the Pat-Cave / Fortress of Pat-titude and see these 2 display cases… I always see a grand…a grand display / a $1,000+ worth of Championship Title Belts. This doesn’t even include my Ultra Deluxe Undisputed WWE Championship Title Belt, which is about another grand. Point is, be happy. If you feel you spend too much, sell some of it to get some of the money back. If you have too much or don’t have enough room for new stuff, donate some of the old stuff. If you’re b!+c#!n6 just to b!+c#, then you’re probably just a b!+c#, b!+c#.

Kind of but what else have you spent lots of money on
Restaurants, Booze or other indulgences and you have nothing to show for it except hazy memories
Dating
DVDs, video games
Yea I've spent lots on figures but it's a fun hobby. I just wonder if when Mattel quits making figures if I will keep my collection or not, most of the fun is collecting

I'd be opening Pandora's Box by answering this. Its best to not think about it and keep acquiring.

i dont have a crapload of funds dedicated to it, but what i have spent is/was worth it considering prices now. But i have scaled back alot, no longer buying doubles for fix ups and no longer buying newer talent. i have saved a crapload the last few months. But i have directed some of that towards my other hobby fixing up Joes. so i havent saved much..lol
