I love babies, but not in a movie theater. Asking for a child to stay behaved throughout an entire movie is asking a lot. Even with the mind power of cell phones & iPads for distractions.
Is a babysitter an option? If so, the 2 of you could just enjoy a night out.

I think parents should wait until their kids are a few years old before bringing them to a movie.

My cinema always lets screaming four year olds in to rated 12 flims.
Why would a four year old watch planet of the apes, guardians of the galaxy and san andreas? You either get a screaming kid or someone non stop chewing and spitting popcorn.

I think it depends on the kid. If your kid is quiet, then go for it. But just be responsible, and if they suddenly become unquiet for any reason, then take them out of the theater. I think all reasonable people are OK with that.

In my case most of the time babies are not a problem for me, the parents are usually good in taking care of the their needs. I can't say the same for some teenagers.
