its not bad dude.
But take your time and real care around the edge of clothing. Use the smallest brush you can. I find that way, you've got a hell of a lot less chance, going over the edge and onto legs and arms and things.
I do like the colour.

NOT a custom. It's a repaint. I'm sorry, and I know it's basically a matter of opinion, I just feel that in order to call your work a custom, more work needs to be done then cracking open a bottle of Apple Barrel paint and give it a good 20 minute go, and post it on here. In no way am I bashing your work, becuase for a first, it's not a bad paintjob, try using different brushes for the varying areas, your lines will come out a bit smoother if you try this. Also, spread your paint generously, I can see that you're not using your dab of paint to it's full extent. Once you dip, spread until you can't anymore, regardless if it's a clear coat or not, you should always be doing about 2 coats on attire, unless you're using high quality acrylics, which Apple Barrel isn't. All in all, ok job for the first, but like I said, work on brush tactics as well as other things I have mentioned. Try practicing on spare figures to work on skill. I hope I helped and didn't come off rude, just in the beginning I was stating my opinion in general.

The edges are really sloppy. Use tape to mask out straight lines. Besides the sloppiness, it really isn't too bad. It is also just a repaint.

Not bad at all, Especially for your first paint job!
If you use a "paint sealer" over the pink paint it will give the figure that shine that the Jakks figures have. "paint sealer" acts like a gloss.
I would highley recommend it for your custom figure
