So I really like shopping online on places like Amazon and eBay (mainly CD's, Movies/TV, posters, clothing). Most of the time you get items you really want and think "Yeah, that was really great, quick and easy". Other times, it's hell, and there's nothing more frustrating when getting things that either take way too long to arrive, the item you get is broken or it's simply the wrong item. Getting CD's where the CD literally falls apart in your hands when the description clearly says VERY GOOD CONDITION, man that sucks. What are some good or bad experiences that people have had buying items online ? What are the best/worst things that you have bought? Also, what do you think about online shopping in general as well?

Its annoying buying elites online especially when you know the figure has already been opend and sellotaped back together.
It also annoys me when I buy a cd or dvd in like new condition and the arrive with a few scratches in them. To me like new should mean absolute perfect discs.

I love online shopping. Generally cheaper and easier than dealing with trying to find things in stores. And I would personally recommend Amazon.com to anyone. Not necessarily the amazon merchants third party sellers (those are as hit and miss as ebay), but buying directly from Amazon is a sure bet in my experience. Stellar customer service every time.
As far as good bad deals...
Hard to say what the best was. I've gotten lots of great deals on things with eBay auctions and Amazon sales.
The worst experience though would definitely be a NES system and games lot I bought on eBay one time. Came with the console, two controllers, light gun, and fifteen games. Paid about $60 for the lot (auction ended in the middle of the night - always a bad move by a seller). It was advertised to be in perfect working condition with all games having been tested prior to listing. Well, when it arrived I opened the box to be met with a massive wave of this terrible smell. Was like a combination of cat pee, skunk, and rotting flesh. Darn near made me hurl right there. Thinking that maybe it was in the box and giving the seller the benefit of the doubt as the pictures looked excellent in the listing, I unpacked the items to find that the smell was clearly coming from them. Everything had this slimy sort of film all over it and smelled awful. I didn't even bother testing it. Just write the seller. They swore everything was in perfect shape and nothing was wrong. It was obvious that the slime and smell was present before the items were shipped as the box they were in was actually find. Only a little residual smell and no sliminess on the inside. The items were all wrapped in plastic grocery bags, which were full of the same slime and smell inside them. I did get my money back and didn't have to pay for return shipping at all, so it was all okay. Took about a week before I stopped smelling that smell though.

Sorry to hear about that, that sounded great

I did get my money back and didn't have to pay for return shipping at all, so it was all okay. Took about a week before I stopped smelling that smell though. I ordered a package of hemp hearts from Amazon. Found the box it shipped in on the front porch completely opened. It was on of those boxes that just has the sides folded over and glued together. The hemp heart packaged had a split in it and the contents were spilled out in what was left of the box. One time I got a set of paint brushes from Amazon and they were laying loose in the box with other items I ordered and the ends were all flayed apart making them unusable. Once a mix up turned out pretty cool. I ordered a vintage GI Joe Scarlett figure from an online toy store. It was supposed to be the swivel arm version but they sent a straight arm version. The straight armed versions are worth a lot more than the swivel arm versions. I don't remember the price I paid but I got a great deal on that. I later got the swivel arm version too that I wanted.

I think I've been knocking it out of the park lately. I got an original No Holds Barred poster, a Birdcage poster, a Dead Can Dance live album promo poster, and a 70s NJPW LP.
Plus I've been selling some stuff on eBay for pretty good prices. I have some movie posters I was planning to list soon if anyone is interested. (Sorry for the ad)

I ordered a mug for my mom on Amazon and when it arrived the handle was shattered. To be fair though it may have been the mail mans fault because the package look like it had just been thrown on my step instead of places gently. Amazon did give me a full refund and told me I can do whatever id like with the broken mug.

I'm always buying stuff online, it's a habit. It's mainly jeans, shoes, shirts, sunglasses and action figures. Last year I bought a two Alexander McQueen scarves while in Vegas, which was the first time in about three years that I've walked into a store and bought clothes. I hate the whole clothes shopping experience, constantly being bothered by the assistant about what would look good on me etc. Get away from me lady, your good looks aren't going to guilt trip me into buying something. I prefer the convenience of seeing something online and buying it right then and there.
The best thing I bought online was a blu ray player. It arrived but there was another box that came with it. Inside was a brand new XBox 360 console and Forza. Turns out I'd gotten someone else's mail which I did consider keeping, this company could have taken a $400 hit and no one would notice. I didn't though because it was a few days before Christmas so I returned it.
The worst thing I bought were three pairs of True Religion jeans. I was new to online shopping so when I saw them uber cheap, I bought them instantly. I only wear straight leg and bootcut but these things were super tight and not even close to the right size. Sure enough I had bought some knockoffs, lesson learned. I already had eight (authentic) pairs though so maybe it was the universes way of telling me I don't need anymore.

I've never really had any bad experiences other than items taking ing forever to ship. Best thing I've bought is probably my N64, though, my rasslin DVDs are up there.

Entire 1998 run of Hardcore TV for 27 dollars. BOECW Dudleys, with patience, was able to get them for less then 20 dollars combined. Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 for $20 dollars. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns complete in great condition for 7 dollars from an online Goodwill store. Legends 3 Brian Pillman for $30 bucks MOC just before the prices blew up. Elite 1 CM Punk in a trade here for some of my custom fodder. I don't really buy clothing, food etc online. Mostly things that are hard to find around here.
My definite worst experience was this: I found a WM22 Mick Foley figure for way cheaper then usual, mainly because the knees apparently had problems. But I figured I could fix it and I bought it. Fast forward a couple days and it wasn't delivered. But the tracking says it was delivered. I thought someone had stolen it until I saw the tracking said it was delivered in the mailbox. It still hasn't come 3 to 4 months later.

Best: Not a clue, I buy far too many things Worst: Spent £13 on the Deluxe Aggression 3-pack Jeff Hardy when I was like 13 (my mum ordered me it and that was a lot of money for me at the time) and when it arrived I took him out the parcel, tested the joints and his leg snapped off
