I know this isn't 100% related sue me I wanted to share this.
I am 31 and on this Father's day morning after looking around my room I thought I come here and share a few memories of dad. As far back as I can remember my dad loved that I was into wrestling. We would watch it together all the time, and back when I was a kid they had LJN figures. For those who could remember haha. But he would always see me playing with my figures and ask me who was champ and what was going on. Given like kids now my answer was 95% always of course Hulk Hogan who else dad. Then when Hasbro's came out I was a little older, and every two weeks my dad would take me to return bottles cans whatever I could get my hands on for money and he would take me to local Toys R' Us. Now back then it wasn't as crazy as it is now. I mean figures and I mean all figure would sit on shelves for weeks if not months at a time. So given hasbro at the time were 4.99 I would return enough bottles or cans to get at least one, and my dad being as great as he was always got me a second maybe even a third figure. I remember one time going it was the set with Sgt. Slaughter like always I would hold his hand in the parking lot and once I got to the door like all kids I would run to where they had the wrestling figures and a few mins later after my dad catching up to me, I was holding Sgt. Slaughter and like 4 other figures, he looks at me and said you really think we are getting all of them. I said please dad we won't go in two weeks if we get them now, he said you can get them and took me anyway two weeks later. Even now as I'm older and more of a collector he still doesn't say a word that a 31 year old spends money for figures, because he knows I love it.
So after that long story I want to wish every dad here an amazing Father's day and hope in this thread you share a story or two of either your dad or you being a dad to your kids now.

My Dad doesn't like wrestling. I don't like him, so it all worked out!

one of my fondest memories is my Dad driving me to Allentown, PA. to TRU back in 1990. why? because the Hasbro WWF Series 1 Ultimate Warrior figure was SUPER hard to find, and I called down there, they had him in stock, and were willing to hold one for me. so my Dad drove me down there to get him ( about an hour each way). then while I was there he also bought me a Macho Man, cause I couldn't find him anywhere either!

When it came to WWF figures and my dad, he would travel the world for his job. Anywhere he'd go - mostly within the States - he'd see what figures other stores had. If he found one I hadn't had in my collection, he'd get it for me as a surprise when he got home. However, one particular story stands out...
It was either my mom or dad who had found an LJN Bobby Heenan in their everyday shopping, and saved it for an upcoming birthday or Christmas, or even a good report card. Whichever came first. Thing was, they hid the figure so well, they forgot about it. Then one ordinary day, my dad was getting ready for work and picking out a shirt/tie in the bedroom closet. All of a sudden, he was hit on the head when something dropped from the top shelf. It was the still-carded Bobby Heenan LJN. He couldn't stop laughing: 1) Because it hit him in the head, and 2) that he'd forgotten to ever give it to me. My mom comes in to find out what the commotion is, and she can't believe it either. So, since it was an overdue gift, they immediately call me upstairs, and present me with a figure I never knew existed, and quite an amusing tale. I thought it was my lucky day.

My dad got me into wrestling at a young age. Like age 4 actually. And being that we lived in Canada and he was a bus driver, he would take these trips once a month to the USA for this bingo thing down in North Carolina. So each time he would come back with gifts for me, and they were always wrestling figures.
One time he brought back in one haul, Hasbro figures of Smash & Crush, Rockers, Bushwhackers, Jim Duggan and Hulk Hogan, WCW bend'em figures of Sting, Luger, Windham, Flair, Arn, Scott and Rick, Doom, Sid and Z-Man, and then the newer WCW figures when they came out of Sting, Flair, Hogan, Vader, Johnny B. Badd and the Nasty Boys. He brought back WWF and WCW VHS tapes, so much wrestling back then, and as a kid and an early teen I loved it!
However, in October of 1995 he passed away when I was only 14 years old. So that's why 1995 is my favourite year for WWF wrestling, and why Diesel is my favourite WWF Champion of all time, because he was the last champion that I got to watch with my father when we would watch wrestling together.
So yeah, those are my memories with my dad, I would have loved to had more with him but that wasn't how it was meant to go down. Happy Father's Day though to all the Dad's on this forum and to my Dad who is way up in the Heavens.

My dad delivers magazines to Wal Marts and grocery stores, and he would check the wrestling aisle to see what they had all the time. He brought home a TTL Jeff Hardy for no reason at all. Being 4 years old, Jeff Hardy was my favorite wrestler at the time.
Another time, I lost a tooth, and the "Tooth Fairy" gave me $10. I asked my dad who they had at WalMart and he said the APA. I gave him the money to get them. The next day, he came home with the figures and he gave me my money back.

Aint got much with figures and my dad but my pops and I used to watch wrestling back around 1996-1999. We would always wrestle around too. I remember one day I ran up behind him and delivered a neckbreaker. He wasn't happy with me. LOL. Now, my boys and I watch wrestling. I hadn't watched since 1999 so the product today seems much different but my youngest loves it. We customize figures and search for them together. They get most of what they want and I settle for the leftovers most of the time. Nothing beats it when a RSC package arrives in the mail and they are pumped to get a few figs they have wanted for a while. I think the reason I spoil them is because my parents were never big toy buyers. They would buy me figs but not often. Usually once a year aside from birthdays and Christmas.

I have great memories with my dad and wrestling. I have watched wwe from when I was 4 (2003) and I had never been to a wwe live event until 2014 November, my dad took me and my brother. He has giving me the best experience of my life. He is also taking me back to Minehead to watch it again. I also have memories of him and me watching mania and I particular remember my favourite shawn michaels retiring and I watched his last match with him. We also love the Rumble as it's unexpected and we used to have a pick each year. I remember '07 when I chose Khali to win,I was wrong lol. He isn't a huge wwe fan but enjoys it. He isn't a figure collector and doesn't take much notice of me collecting, however most of my memories of wrestling is with him.

My dad thinks wrestling is a joke. He got me into wrestling by ordering the wwf pay per views in 87-88. I never saw another pay per view until the attitude era in college. I secretly watched wwf and eventually wcw on TV the whole time. I watched lots of sports with my dad, but he would never see wrestling the way I do. "FAKE" he calls it Like its shameful

Nice story. My dad never really watched it at all. I happened to find it buy channel surfing. He always called it fake, but he would buy me figures, shirts, magazines. Get up early to garge sales and buy figures if they had them. He knew I enjoyed it and quite honestly there isn't/wasn't much I enjoyed. He passed away 11 years ago (in April) and I will be 32 on Tuesday so the next couple of days will be rough. But I imagine if he were still here he would complain about the prices. LOL Back then it was still Jakks so they don't look as good as they do know or come with as many weapons and stuff. I can remember the first new figure he bought me was The Rock, it really didn't look like him. Also got me the Titraon set with Vince. I no longer have those figures or any of the figures he had gotten me, so that sucks.
