A couple of months ago, my grandma moved directly across the street from me. Anyone else have relatives who live really close, but not actually in the same house?

There was a time when most of my aunts and uncles lived with in walking distance of each other. Im talking about there would be a couple of blocks that were just family. These days my fam still owns the houses but everyone has moved to other places. Still though I live walking distance from my parents and an uncle.

My closest relative is about 2 hours away, being my brother. After that everyone else in my family is well over a thousand miles away.

that. I hardly like relatives making the drive out to see me as it is, let alone having them live in the same street as me. I've seen Everybody Loves Raymond, it'd be a nightmare.

I used to live 2 streets away from my grandma but haven't for like 10 years.
I still only like like 5 minutes away from her so it is all good.
The only other family I am super close with are my aunt and brother who are still within a 10-15 minute drive so it isn't bad.
My dad, sister, and other grandma live 30 minutes to 3 hours away so I rarely see them which kinda sucks.

It's funny we've always kept moving from house to house when I was growing up but we'd always end up on the other side of town to where all my relatives lived, they'd all live in generally the same area, a few doors down or a street or two away. It kind of made our family feel like the black sheep being so distant & away from the others.. It's like friends at school, they'd always live in an area where most of the other kids populated but our house was always a mile away, thankfully there was an odd kid or two who had it just as bad as us..
It's like we'd live in the rough/dark side of town while they all lived in the happy/bright area where the greenest of grass grows & the sun always shined, oh I've had dreams of living in that perfect utopia before.. :]

Nope, my parents are 2,5 hours away and my only uncle/aunt/cousins I consider to be family ( the rest of them) are like 6 hours away.

No one on my dad's side of the family lives more than 15 minutes apart. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, everyone. I'm going to have to break that tradition. Too much drama when you're that close.

My Grandmother lives 10 minutes away. However that's since my parents moved a couple of months back into town. She did live 2 minutes away before haha. It's a small town.

Not since I moved to New York. Back in California I lived in the same complex as my twin sister but ever since moving, everyone I'm related to is either still in Australia or her back in LA.

My mother currently lives with us until we can find and set up a viable long-term solution for her care. Before that I moved about 800 miles away from home and all of my family. I know many people don't like the idea of being so close to family, and obviously the specific situation would make a huge difference, but I wouldn't mind if I had relatives who lived close by. If anything it'd be helpful at times. YMMV, of course.
