Hello my hard rocking amigos I am in search of guidance, advice and some help in not throwing my damn iPod classic off the wall!!!
I have had this for about 7 years now and I use it every single day I am at the gym. The problem is I have put no new music on it in about 4 years! this is because I have had nothing, bit trouble with it each time I did. So after it getting wiped for the third time I said screw this and just stuck with what I have. Well now I would like to add new songs, but I do not know any of my iTunes details, no longer have 3/4 of the CDs taht are on here......... and most importantly of all I freaking hate iTunes and have no desire to deal with it in any regard what so ever.
So my question is this. Is it possible for me to connect my iPod Classic to my current lap top and just drag songs to it like you would an MP3 player? I mean there has to be a way...... right?
thanks in advance for any help.

I used to use a program called SharePod to get music off and onto my iPod without iTunes, but that was waaaaay back in the day. It might still be around, haven't really looked.

I don't know of a specific way to do that, though I'm sure there may be third party tools that could help you.
Apple categorizes music on iPods in very strange ways. If you were to view the folders where your music is contained on the device, it's usually just a bunch of different "bins" with letters and numbers - no artists, songs, etc. The software then must make sense of the gibberish.

Why not just get a new Classic? After about five years, the battery on mine was only lasting less than six hours so I just bought a new one. Much easier than putting up with problems.

Thanks for the advice guys I think I am going to just buy a generic MP3 player that I can just drag and drop tunes to. I know some people love Apple products, but with this iPod and my iPad I think they are not for me lol, way to restrictive and I hate iTunes with a passions. But cheers to all for the help ![:)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/smiley.gif)

- Download iTunes - Go into setting and select "Manage Files Manually" and turn iff "Auto Sync" - Close iTunes - Hook up iPod to laptop - iTunes should open - Should be able to drag files from anywhere on your laptop into the "My iPod" in iTunes and there you go.
I have an 8 GB iPod Nano and have always done this.

Use winamp. When I had an iPod classic all I had to really do was plug it in and winamp would detect it almost immediately... It let me put cover arts and everything.

You still need to download iTunes even if you just want to put your cds on to your ipod.
I would get a sony mp3 player, the bass sound is so much better than an ipod, which in my opinion is very overhyped.
