The reason the Faarooq figure looks like the old Big E head is because the first Big E head looked more like Faarooq than Big E.

And does APA have cowboy boots...i can't tell?

LOL... I'll be buying them anyway. His headscan is the least of my worries. I'm sure his next fig will have color corrected and ring attire. Great job on the accessories, MattelDesignTeam. Probably my favorite in recent memory.

This is what a "painted on shirt" looks like And it was completely accurate. The first elite Rollins vest sucked. I had to cut about a third of it off because it was excess plastic.

They're not the worsed figures by any means, but I just feel like they could have done a better job.
Sloppy mistakes and poor choices, I might hold off to see if they do ministry attire elites.

I'm actually more disappointed In the fact that MDT didn't do The Acolytes as WELL as the APA, since they are reissuing The Ministry Taker. It would have been a good move on theirpart to get more sales out of it

It would have been a good move on theirpart to get more sales out of it Bradshaw and Farooq reached the height of their popularity when they transcended their lot as henchmen and emerged as the APA. This was the gimmick they were most known for, and that's why these figures are being created. Mattel learned a hard lesson when their inaugural legends line included non-classic iterations of Slaughter, LOD, etc. They're not taking that risk again, so I can't see them ever releasing the forgettable Acolytes.

I can understand why everyone who wanted ring attire is upset, but honestly they said they were making the APA not the Acolytes. 90% of the time the APA were in street gear playing cards and drinkin beer in the back, or interfering in someones match cuz they were paid to do so. That was a majority of their TV time at the time. This attire makes the most sense for them. My only gripes are yes, Faarooqs skintone is way dark, he should be the same as The Rock or Papa Shango. Also, esp since the sleeves are painted and not molded, they should be sleeveless, with the black armbands around the biceps. Honestly, the head does resemble Big Es first scan, but it also resembles Faarooq as well, so Im ok with it. I think the skintone along with the goatee painted incorrectly may be throwing people off as well. It should cut straight across the chin and be flat like on Austin figures, with the sould patch being completely separate Even after seeing them i am still very excited to get them and have the APA in my collection. Tucked, molded shirts are waaaay better than those rubber ones would have been. Bradshaw has the Harper pants mold while Farooq has Austin mold, making them both differ in height and not look like the exact same bodies. I cant tell if the zippers on the gloves are molded or not, but regardless having them is great attention to detail. And nothing even needs to be said about the accessories. No figure is perfect, but these are still solid figures to me.

This is what a "painted on shirt" looks like Exactly what I was going to post as "painted shirt" but as for APA, they didn't have to paint the sleeves. @mattelbill As for the scan, so I guess you guys didn't bother making a Faarooq scan of his own? Don't get me wrong guys, I'm stoked we're getting these figures, no doubt I'll buy them but I must admit, I'm not too happy with them and I know for sure mattel could have done better.

I always thought the APA shirts were so weird. It says APA Protection, so when you think about it, it's Acolyte Protection Agency Protection.

And they wrestled like 100 matches just in the year 2000 (when they debuted). So they were def in tights more than the street gear look. not to mention, they did wear the same tights in APA as they wore in the Ministry of Darkness...just w/o the chest symbols i still think the jeans/shirt look is iconic though.

Did APA ever wear the arm bands when they were backstage just doing their skits? I know, I'm lazy to research pictures.

What I dont understand is that didnt they say they were making a BP version of them? Ok, so why not put the tshirt versions in basic form and the in ring attire version in elite form? I hate the basics but I dont mind t shirts and entrance gear in basic. It just seemed to make more sense that an in ring version has more articulation. Oh well, Ill still buy them but I am disappointed.
