These price increases are not justified. I am pretty much only buying flashbacks from this point on. I refuse to pay over 20 bucks for 90% of the current roster. It would be one thing if the quality was better but to be honest, it has gotten worse.

In Canada they prices on elites were recently lowered from 24.99 to 19.99.

Yep. The big issue is that TRU is normally right along with everyone else if not behind. I was loving when they were actually the best price around at $17. Now, back to Target and Amazon...

Ever since they got the new CEO a coiple years back TRU has been the most expensive store for toys usually about $5 more per other retailers. But for some reason the WWE line was the cheapest that is up until yesterday. But last week they were still $16.99 here.

So tell me something. These toys are marketed towards kids right? What mother is gonna buy little jimmy a $23 (after taxes) figure?

Man, I'd LOVE to pay $22 for an Elite - they cost $28-$31 here (UK)...

My TRUs each have different prices. I think one does $16.99 elites with $20.99 BOPPV, the other does $18.99 elites and $21.99 BOPPV. Not totally sure though.
I know people are gonna be unhappy, but compared to other toys, this these prices are pretty standard. Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black are $20 Marvel Select $25 Neca $18-22 I just bought a Funko Malcolm Reynolds from BNN and it was $20 and it sorta sucks next to an average elite.

I think its probably realistic at this point that Mattel expects more kids to buy basics, more adult collectors to buy elites at a higher ratio. Obviously a ton of crossover and exceptions to that.

Tru sucks. I had 2 stings on preorder, ($26 ea) they had a delay in shipment so they cancelled my order. No problem. I'll get it down the street at Walmart for $19. It's been there for a week.

How had you paid? I had paid by PP and according to PP they cancelled my order in early July. (Actually it was the same day I found Sting at WalMart) so I didn't think anything of it. But this past Thursday I had ordered the SDCC '66 Batgirl exclusive. So when I checked order status over the weekend I saw my preordered for 2 Sting figures was still active. So I cancelled it Sunday night. If you paid by PP maybe the hold for the payment was cancelled and not the actual order like with mine?

It's been pending since the day it came up for preorder. It was scheduled for shipment the 15th. I got an email about the delay that day. Yesterday I got an email that if it wasn't in by the 17th they would cancel my order. This morning they cancelled it.

Yeah, those prices went up a while back at Toys R Us here in Maryland. My bigger concern is the price of the Defining Moments guys. I like Sting, but I don't believe it is a $26 action figure.

Doesn't TRU always do this. They lower the prices and increase oftern. THe prices of Elites are usually 16 bucks then hiked up to 22 then lowered again to 16, then hiked again?
I could be wrong and have a shoddy memory.

I was actually shocked a few months ago when I saw the prices for elites were 16.99$, didn't expect TRU to have them that low.

I was thinking about picking up another E35 Triple H to do a head swap with the suited figure in the BP with Bryan, but couldn't justify it to myself to spend the extra $5 for basically a head swap.

mattel prices their elites at $19.99 so this is no surprise as TRU is usually at least $1/$2 higher than everyone else on everything

yea with price increases , it always means more peg warming and thefts. im not sure how the average allowance kid can afford this stuff. unless they are only buying basics.
