While I understand the reasoning why they raised the price, the TRU near me blows chunks with their Elite selection (Pick of the litter was the E35 Triple H) with tons of John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, and C.M. Punk shelfwarmers.

I probably seem like a scab or sellout, but I'm cool with giving TRU an extra $1 if it means they survive longer. I've been buying there for nearly two decades longer than many members are old here and I'd hate to see the last (big) brick and mortar toy shop (in the US) close.

Yeah, we got nailed here starting like a week or two ago.
TRU had been $16.99 for the LONGEST time. Even after price increases at Walmart, Target, and KMart, TRU kept theirs the same...then lo and behold...not only did they raise the prices, they raised them up enough so that they're now the most expensive place in town.
It's disappointing to say the least.

Just crazy how much prices have risen to in 5 years. I know most will defend it say its no big deal, inflation blah blah blah, but still, $20 for a wrestling figure is ridiculous, especially when theyre coming with less and less over the years. Exclusives with plastic shirts, DM with only a belt, etc. I remember when people hated $20 so much that they couldn't justify buying a legends 2 pack for that price. I'm just annoyed. $15 was perfect, even 17 was acceptable, but $22 is ridiculous. Looks like I'm not buying from TRU anymore.

It is getting a little crazy with these prices, and I've already started to cut way back on current roster guys and mainly focus on legends now.
Also, hearing Bill say that he had to fight his Mattel bosses just to keep basic articulation, is a very bad sign to me for this line going forward.

the only way I buy retail anymore is for store exclusives. preorders are the way to go.

In the end Ringside is the cheapest place to order and they have the biggest assortment. You can still get the usos for retail and los matadores for below it. Not to mention there damaged packaging section. They were selling brock elite 19 for 15. Stardust and bo's elite were 19, after the 10% off they are retail.

I know 20-ish is the "norm" now...but I really think it's getting super close to the tipping point for a lot of people.
Obviously, I don't know "everyone"...but I have to think there are a lot of toy collectors that aren't able to keep up with their want list at the price they're being charged for them.

I saw this today because they still had tags up that said "WWE PPV Elite-16.99" And I was ecstatic, but wasn't sure about if they were actually that price, so i went to the scanner and low and behold, 21.99. If they are going to raise the prices they should at least change out tags to prevent further confusion.

If they have anything worth buying. You say that's not what the price tag peg says and they honor it. They then send someone to pull the tag right after. |

Whenever I go to TRU now, I just show the person at the checkout that WWE Elite Cesaro is sold on Amazon BY Amazon for $16.99 and they price match.

they are 25.99 Euro here......with the dollar and the Euro being nearly equal that's an effin disgrace. not as bad as Battlepack's being 31.99 though.
