They should have let DoFP be the finale, but greed got heavy in the way.. FOX saw the box office returns and ruined what was a VERY rare saving grave of an entire franchise. Imagine DoFP being the end of that X-Universe.. And Deadpool being the reboot.. They ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ed up big time. Well f*ck you Word™ .........you've just made everything 10 times worse with this great idea. LOL. It is kind of irritating me that Logan seems to be occurring in the idealistic future of the fixed ending to DOFP. I mean....why f*ck around with that? As I have said I'm not excited for Logan at all. I will see it but not at the Cinema. Which will make it the first X-Movie EVER I wont have seen at the movies........Apocalypse just ruined me for the time being with this franchise. The amount of joy the ending of DoFP brought me in theaters was unreal. I'm not exaggerating at all, Joker when I say I was a little misty eyed watching that final 2 minutes. A movie franchise I had been heavily apart of since I was 11 years old. A comic franchise I had been heavily apart of since I was 6 years old.. I watched it start, I watched it rise, I watched it fall and then I watched it bury itself.. Then I watched it have some hope in First Class and then finally we came full circle and they properly CLOSED out the entire Bryan Singer saga.. 14 years of X-Men seemingly wrapped up in the most beautiful way possible. And then they did Apocalypse and quite literally ruined everything.

That timeline should remain untouched. But it doesn't seem like its going to does it? Unless Logan happens in the far flung future of the McEvoy timeline?

I agree with you guys they should have ended the franchise with DoFP, the ending for it was just unreal and was such a great way to end it.

Happy 94th (!!) birthday to Stan Lee! Christ...what a life he's led. Without him, I don't know where much of our fandom would go...but I for one give him all the respect in the world for a truly unbelievable innings... Agreed.....nothing but love for Stan. Fiona & Myself are currently working our way through the MCU. We have just finished Avengers and IM3 will be on after dinner. It really is something watching them all back to back.......just amazing attention to detail paid by everyone. Awesome.

Very cool - I remember you saying a while ago you and the missus rewatch the MCU films as a marathon around this time of year...! Sometimes though I can't help but wonder what Jack Kirby would've thought of the MCU...and if he would've done cameos like Mr Excelsior too... we do it every 2nd year.......as the MCU grows? It becomes more time consuming!!! Like....we didn't get to watch IM3 last night and we wont be watching the MCU tonight or now probably til Monday.....LOL

I'm trying to figure out how often I need to rewatch Marvel films.. And Star Wars films.
I think this year I'm going to extend some self control and really hold off on having marathons or watching these films until the moment is truly right.
4-5 times a year is hurting the product.

I haven't done marathons but I find myself watching maybe a couple different ones each month I don't watch any of the Iron Man movies But I find myself watching Gaurdians at least every month or two. AOU every month or two. Civil War and the two Thors over and over And then I became obsessed with the TV MCU stuff! And not Marvel but I find myself watching BvS way more often than I anticipated

Yeah that'd be way too much for me. I watched EP4 before Rogue One but didn't get the urge to stick one on straight after!! I will likely watch The Force Awakens again soon......

So Disney end the year with 6 movies in the domestic top 10 Stateside......Cap is in 3rd place & Dr Strange is in 10th. With the team of Pixar, Marvel & Star Wars? Disney are gonna be sitting pretty for a while

Does anyone reckon that Marvel are foreshadowing Bucky as the man to take up the mantle of Cap? Bucky has held the shield in all three films and also said 'I gotta get me one of those!' That's kinda where I've been leaning. Wasn't it rumored that Chris Evans wanted to step away soon not long ago, too? I think it makes sense that either he or Tony are going to bite it in Infinity War.

They can have Steve die in Tony's arms and therefore he's so shell-shocked that he has to step down as Iron Man. That way they can let Evans and RDJ both take a break for a while. Then Sebastian Stan can take over as Cap.

I think Cap being able to move Thors hammer in AOU a touch foreshadows him being the one to ultimately defeat Thanos and maybe sacrifice his life in doing so......Evans was rumoured to want to stop acting and start a directorial career. He has since said on the record numerous times he would gladly play Cap for the rest of his life.
Dunno how I feel about Bucky becoming Cap in the MCU. I see Thor, IM & Cap not being major players or not being present at all in Phase 4.

However, I feel like Bucky will not be fully immersed in the Cap persona as he is in the comics, but rather he gets the shield and tries to erase the past he created with Hydra. He'll want to stand for the same ideals Steve stands for right now and if he does so, it could lead to some interesting chemistry between Buck and the rest of the group heading into Phase 4. Once Brie Larson stars in the Captain Marvel film, her and Doctor Strange will probably lead the Avengers into Phase 4 with Bucky having a recurring role here and there.

I think Sebastian Stan is the only person people would openly accept as a replacement to Captain America..

I see Dr Strange is now scheduled to show up in Thor: Ragnarok. I wonder is that Post credit scene like the one at the end of Ant Man with Cap & Falcon?
In that its an actual scene from the middle of the movie?

Am I the only one who thinks Anthony Mackie would make a great Cap if they could somehow get him injected with super serum?

me and the other half made the decision to start watching all the X-Men movies again. X-Men are kind of my thing (my first born was even named Logan!) but the movies, while I have enjoyed them there is a million little things I would loved to have seen or been done a little different. But to be fair that is just me nit picking.
Anyway I remember when the first X-Men movie came out and what a big deal it was. I would have been around 18 at the time and actually made the effort to go and see it with my old man as he was the one who introduced me to X-Men when I was little and it was really the one thing we both loved as I grew up. Anyway we have watched the first two movies again so far. X-Men was a lot of fun and I actually really enjoyed watching it again. It was a pretty simple movie, but for me it is the kind of movie that just flew by as I had so much fun watching it.
We watched X-Men 2 last night...... wow what a disappointment. I had not seen this for a few years and before last night it would have made my top ten super hero movies. But in watching it again it just felt little flat and not as good as the first one we watched the night before. The movie was still ok, even good. But it certainly was not as good as my memory thought it was. We are watching X-Men The Last Stand tonight. This is my least favourite of the series, but hey who knows after not seeing it for ages I might actually enjoy it.
Has there been anything said about what is happening with the X-Men movie franchise after Logan?

I heard rumours that Fox are planning to reboot(again) the X-Men stuff after Apocalypse didn't do as well as they'd hoped. If you ask me, I just stick with the Animated Series & Deadpool as they're both very faithful to their comic book counterparts.
