Something that bothers me more than what Hogan has said is the fact that these comments were kept from the public since 2006. To me it seems like the group who released these comments were planning on ruining Hulk Hogan's image. Both things are very bothersome. The constant "BUT ITS SOMETHING HE SAID IN PRIVATE" argument is a tired one. Yes, it's bull that it's being done to ruin his image but this also would not be happening if...you know...he didn't say what he said. Or he wasn't being recorded. Or the general public was forgiving enough to take his words in context. I kind of feel like two people who aren't easily offended, that know each other aren't racist, and love each other enough to protect each other, ought to be able to say whatever they like to each other without being wrongfully branded a racist by the rest of society.

We should be able to say whatever the hell we want in private. You should. But you should also be able to grasp the fact that if you something in private and someone eavesdrops, it doesn't mean you didn't say it or that it's okay to say it. It's wrong that it was recorded to use against him, but that doesn't change that it was said. It should be okay to say. We are so far removed from slavery that it's ridiculous. Such a small percentage of Americans owned slaves and so few of us are descended from them that it should be a non issue. We don't even have many African Americans left that were impacted by it. Plus their own pop culture has co-opted the word so it's lost it's meaning. Plus, there are plenty of other slurs that no one gives a crap about that are derogatory to minorities that make up a greater percentage of the population that it's laughable this one word is such an issue. Why do you suppose that is?

Hulk Hogan is not in a position of power in any forum in the WWE. No child idolizes Hulk Hogan anymore, he can't effect anyone's career with these comments, his career is over so this should of been a private meeting between him and the company and whoever else wanted to be involded. The remarks was going to come out regardless and WWE should of been able to handle this in a professional manner. No matter what investors, sponsors, talent had to say about it.
At the end of the day WWE is still a wrestling company. WWE has employeed over a million people in just the thirty years I've been alive. If the WWE has to handle everyone of these situations like this moving forward, it's going to be a rough road for the inner working of the company. WWE should of never pressured Hulk Hogan or scrubbed him. Hulk Hogan should of been suspended for 90 days tops, made to go to therapy and anger management and asked to have a interview with media outlets addressing his mistakes.
Not to mention, I can name five stories that turned out true in the past decade that involed WWE employees and Hall of Famers that is far worse than some out of context private conversation about who his daughter chose to sleep and work with.

I like Corey's suggestion of what WWE should have done better.

Make no mistake, I'm not happy with Hulk Hogan for allowing his anger to take him to that level of igorance. I'm just as upset over his comments as anyone else. However I understand what Hulk Hogan had gone through in that short period of time and I understand he was not thinking clearly. However you and I know that is no excuse for name calling.
So instead of sending him home with no support. WWE should of reached out and helped him and gave him support he needs to go work out these issues in private therapy. Negative thoughts, outbursts of anger, depression, doesn't go away with a firing and scrubbing.

I honestly believe that anyone who felt upset or offended by Vince saying "ni**a" during a skit (showing his character being out of touch) is extremely sensitive. This. I loved that segment. They are the same old racist men lol hahaha

I love that it ultimately became Hogan himself who destroyed Hulkamania.

I love that it ultimately became Hogan himself who destroyed Hulkamania. He only dropped the leg and got the pin. The post-match attack is on the way. I knew Hulk was going to find ways to make this worse. Hogan wonders why Obama can use the N-bomb and not him: link

Just....stop. Hogan CLEARY said he was racis, but if you are friends with him than that it's okay, but at the end of the day Hulk still thinks you are a n*****. By the sounds of what you said about your mouth getting you in trouble I can only assume you have used similar language yourself. Some of you need to get over not getting an action figure and see the bigger picture here. It just goes to show you should always be careful of things you say whether you are in private or not it doesn't make you any less racist.

It just goes to show you should always be careful of things you say whether you are in private or not it doesn't make you any less racist. He didn't clearly say he was a racist though. He said he guesses he's racist, which clearly isn't the same thing. I'm thinking we have different definitions of what a racist is. I see a racist as someone who thinks other races are inferior to their own and acts accordingly. I'm judging by your comments that you see a racist as any white person who treats everyone the same regardless of race, that has a private conversation where they dropped the N word in a fit of rage recorded and released to the public. Our definitions of racism are very different. Mine is the text book definition society uses to determine who is actually a racist. Yours is the PC police definition that the PC police use to tear down rich, white men. The use of a word does not a racist make. If I had to choose what kind of a world I would want to live in I would certainly choose the world where we judge a man by the content of his character as opposed to his word choices during low periods. But hey, that's just me.

In it, Obama argues that just because America has eradicated racism that doesn't mean racism has gone away. He goes on to say we still need the government to have more control over our lives so that we can completely get rid of the racism we already don't have. Obama's N word speech explains why guys like Hogan are being vilified. It's a rallying call by the left to strip Americans of their freedoms and give the ruling class more power. The elite point at Hogan and say, "look, more racism. Give the government more power so we can make the world fair again". It scares me that people fall for Obama's shtick.

Good God......when is this entire "non event" going to go away? Utterly and completely blown out of all proportion IMO.

Good God......when is this entire "non event" going to go away? Utterly and completely blown out of all proportion IMO. The outside world isn't really talking about it. Here on this board I think it's great you let people voice their opinions. I've posted on other boards that don't allow political conversations. I think conversations like these are great because they allow us to get someone else's perspective. I've found the conversations I've had with other board members about topics like these to be very informative and helpful.

I'm just sad that so many people have let an admitted troll get them riled up repeatedly.
