Sorry. Idk if this belongs in the entertainment section but I'd they're going to come out with that Ghostbusters reboot everyone is SO excited about, the LEAST they could do is re-issue the Hi-C Ecto Cooler drink. God, I miss that drink. Anyone else agree?

Ecto Cooler was so good. I feel bad for anyone who never had the chance to enjoy it. I'd buy the crap out of it if they rereleased it.

I drank the hell outta this stuff back in the day.
Looking at all the posts, I hope it isn't romanticized memories of this drink that's keeping the spirit alive.
And what I mean is- Look at it like one of those movies you used to watch as kid. You remember how awesome it was and then you go out of your way to find the movie to watch all of these years later. Well, as it turns out, the movie sucks.
I just don't want Ecto-Cooler to be what the film "Hook" is to me nowadays. Badass when I'm young , not so good as an adult.

Word. This has to happen. An entire generation of kids drank this by the gallons. People who like money should be all over this. And why do you not still love Hook? That's on you, not Hook. Rufio mother er, Ru.Fi.O!

Why wouldn't they, it's like a license to make money. Most of the sales would probably be 25-35 year olds reliving the magic of school lunch past.

They produced the stuff well into the early 2000s. The only reason no one was buying it in droves was because, with the hype of Ghostbusters good and gone, it was marketed and released under the name "Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen". I kept a healthy stock of the stuff around until roughly my senior year of high school, at which point it became harder and harder to find until it finally went out of production.

Just like Shock & Awe mentioned, I was able to still buy it well into my Senior year (2001) from a store called Cub Foods. I can almost still taste it...I just wish I could drink it.

I always thought it was pretty gross. But I was already close to starting high school when they came out. I don't get all the fuss. Truthfully, I never really cared for all of those sugar loaded juice boxes. Even when Capri-Sun first came out when I was a kid, I wasn't all that fond of them.
I suspect they wouldn't taste nearly as good to you guys now. I remember those "Little Hug" juice barrel drinks from the 70's and 80's and thought they tasted ok. I tried one as an adult in the 90's and almost puked because it was so sweet and chemically. Same with those freeze pops.

Wasn't allowed to drink Hi-C growing up. Was (and still am) a huge Ghostbuster fan. By the time I realized Ecto Cooler was still around, they had finally discontinued the basic flavor. I half-jokingly yelled at my mom for making me miss out on it, but she insisted Juicy Juice was healthier back then.
Anyway, if Coca-Cola can bring back Surge, they can definitely bring back Ecto Cooler for next year's new film. I want to finally try it.
