Night of Champions: Triple threat match like WrestleMania 2000 where Kurt came in as a duo champ with IC and Euro titles. Rollins, Cena, and either Owens or Cesaro. That would be really nice. Have Owens or Cesaro win the first fall and become the US Champion and when it seems like Rollins is going to lose BOTH belts in one match (like poor Angle did) he can retain the WWE WHT by pinning Cena (hopefully clean). |

I'm kinda on the fence with this...
One one hand, we don't need two mid-card championships and the US title should go. It will help build the IC title back to it's former glory.
One the other hand, WWE just spent months making the title mean something. So it would be stupid to take it away now.

So funny, a few mohths ago, many were asking for the US or IC title to be retired, now the US belt is probably being hinted of retiring, and people are saying no... Hahaha.. Internet wrestling fans logic. So, are you talking about your own logic since you're an internet wrestling fan? Anyway, I think part of the reason that some people changed their minds is because the title finally got booked well. They might have wanted it retired when it was just a prop for Dean Ambrose or Rusev, but John Cena honestly made it very important. |

I hope the United States Championship Title is finally retired. It had a great run in the NWA and WCW. It had a great second run in the WWE. The United States Championship Title Belt and the Divas Championship Title Belt are the only two Championship Title Belts with nameplates. I do love the nameplate feature, and itās actually the reason why I started collecting Championship Title Belts. Since they started to get away from using nameplates, Iād like to see the WWE drop the nameplates on all of the Championship Title Belts to keep it somewhat uniform. Storyline wise, Iād like to see Seth Rollins hand the United States Championship Title Belt over to Triple H in exchange for his statue at WWE Headquarters.

For what it's worth, the title was shown during the promo for Night of Champions. I don't think they're getting rid of it.
If anything, I expect Seth to work two matches at Night of Champions - furthering the discourse between he and Triple H. He'll lose one (or both) of the titles.

The U.S. title isn't going anywhere. They haven't spent the last few months building the title up to just take it away. Or the WWE spent the last few months building it up to make the Title vs. Title match seem equal, thus having Seth win it and retire the US Title. If Cena won, you damn well know he would say, "I am going to defend BOTH Title belts nightly." With Seth, he just wanted to take Cena's belt and keep his own. I am sure Seth will come out on Raw with both titles, but that will be the last time we see that US Title I bet. Unless.... there is a US Title rematch tonight on Raw and Cena wins back the US Title off of Rollins. |

Retiring the US Championship after a title for title match, months of build up for the the title, and when Night Of Champions is approaching soon would be a bad idea.
