I've never understood why the greatest box office draw possibly in the history of wrestling has only gotten 1 and a 2 in 1 Mattel figures.
Where is his Wrestlemania 1, 2, and 6 attires? Where are his red trunks and boots? How about a new headcan with a smile? A scan with a molded fro and sideburms?
So many different eras trunk/boot combos we don't have and it's bothering me lol, my collection mainly consists of guys from 84-87.
Thoughts on the lack of Andre figures in comparison to Savage and Warrior?

From what I've read on this board, he is no longer under contract. I don't believe that. Since his contract 'has been up' he's had two WWE shirts and two WWE Funko figures that are due out in a couple months. Maybe his deal was coming due and they resigned. |

How many looks does he have that people would even want?
They do need a plain clothes Andre. He always wore the same thing.

His contract with wwe is expired.
The legends line was cancelled just before he was released.
It's taken time to rebuild the interest for flashbacks at retail.
They did the 2-in-1 E29 figure.
New head mold on the battlepack version.

What I don't understand is why he can't get a molded singlet when so many guys get their own molded parts. Flashback jerry lawler, vader singlet , sheiks torso
Andre could use more figures and molded singlets for once, I would love to see a molded black and molded blue singlet

I just feel like he had a lot of trunk/boot combos over the years and he is such a huge star in WWE lore, i'm surprised he hasn't been as exploited as other guys. An all yellow WM2 Battle Royal figure is a must imo!

I want to say I'd buy any and all Andres, but I really dislike the Battlepack version. Head sculpt is great, but the rest is bad, and I can't buy an entire 2-pack for a single head. What I'd really love is for them to give us an actual fro sculpt. Needs to look more natural than the Elite wig. I so very much want a really good early Andre with red boots and blue trunks. |

It's because he is a speciality attraction, would he sell? Of coarse but that's why he is released sparingly.

I think MDT is trying not oversaturate the market. They chose to make the 2 Elites and 1 Basic and that's enough for most collectors. I know the 2-in-1 Elite scratched the itch of buying multiples for myself. The concept of making this 2 figures into one is one of the best things MDT has done (and that's saying something).
If you want more attires, you should go the custom route.

He only has one iconic look, WrestleMania 3 era. And his outfits were always pretty boring compared to Savage and Warrior. His appeal hasn't really stood the test of time like those guys.

Do we really need more Andre the Giant figures? His looking wasn't too versatile to be creating multiple figures. There's many other superstars that don't even have ONE figure yet that Mattel should be creating.

We need an Andre sporting his Rock and Wrestling cartoon attire. As a matter of fact, we need an entire Rock and Wrestling cartoon inspired line. It could be a Matty Collector exclusive.
