WHY ARE THEY LABELED RAW AND SMACKDOWN?
From what I've heard recently, WWE really wants Smackdown to be on the same level as Raw and this is all supposed to start once Smackdown moves from syfy to USA. So I think this is them trying to push the brand identity on merchandise, kinda like how they had the network logo replace the scratch one rather quickly.
Personally, I don't ever see it being on the same level as Raw, and to me the key to changing that would be to continue the story lines from show to show. Sure they'll have feuds carry over to smackdown, but it generally seems like there's a wait for the story to actually progress until the following week on Raw.
And hopefully they stay away from Fridays...people go out and do things Friday night
