So, normally I just view as guest but thought this might be the place to ask this question.
I bought a WWE Mattel figure off eBay which I didn't realize until after I received was a not a standard Basic figure due to the rubber hands, springs in legs, and differences in articulation points. I looked back at the auction and yes, the seller posted pictures of the figure from every angle, but made no mention in the description of this being a "different" kind of figure. Obviously there's no way I'd know about the springy legs or rubber hands until I actually handled it.
I asked for a refund and the seller immediately sent an Amazon linking showing me that this was a legit Flexforce figure, so this was not a matter of the seller not knowing what he had. I repeated my request for a refund on the grounds that the seller's description was deliberately ambiguous with hope that the buyer would simply not notice what they were bidding on.
So, what do you think? Am I in the right by asking for a refund? I can see eBay ruling that I could have noticed the differences in arm articulation from the pics, which is true, but I still think it was a crappy thing for the seller not to mention this was from the Flexforce line.

Honestly it's on you. Buy at your own risk. Read the auction and if your not sure about something, you have to ask. Nowhere does it say the seller has to perfectly describe the item to your standards. He can say it's "a wrestling figure." If you buy it, you own it. Live and learn.

Yeah...I think you should have been able to decide whether this was something you would want or not, with him showing pictures from every angle.
Sure, he made a mistake by not knowing or caring enough about it to post it in the info...but he's just trying to make a dolla, yo.
You got GOT, bro.

The pictures should have shown off the added articulation of it being a FF figure. And as mentioned if it's a very ambiguous posting, you should ask questions. If they lie in the answer then yes. A refund should be issued. But I feel that in this situation it's all on you.

You're fault dude
Honestly if it was a flex force you couldn't have taken a huge hit

It is up to the seller to be specific when listing items for sale. You should have noticed the differences with the pictures, but the seller should have specified what they're selling.

If he showed you the actual figure from all angles you should have known it was a FF styled figure.

I used to sell a lot and buyers who don't know what they're bidding on annoy me.

I think you goofed. Although, If I was the seller, I would've given you a refund if you paid to ship it back.

Gonna side with the seller, even if there was only 1 pic, and the item you bought was that figure, then it's on you. Unless he blatantly lied & said the figure was a basic & you bought it & it's really a Flex Force, but if it was just described as a wwe Mattel figure & a pic of the figure, you got what he showed, not his fault

Thanks for the responses everyone. I have cancelled the refund request and accepted that ultimately the error was on me.
This thread can now be locked or whatever.
