So Rollins got the cheap meaningless win against Cena at Summerslam with interference from the celebrity. Now within 24 hours, Rollins took two clean losses to Cena with the Raw finish being as "super-Cena" as ever (over 15 minutes into the match Cena took a convincing frog splash from Rollins and then rolled back, flung Rollins over his shoulders like nothing and gave him a single AA for the win). What is worse, Rollins attacked Cena before the bell, making it look like Rollins had the upper hand. Commentary should have at least sold Rollins' exhaustion more and he should have been taped up or something because a Rollins seemed as fresh as ever in the match. With 2 clean wins over Rollins (and don't forget the clean win before Summerslam when Cena broke his nose) how are we to take Rollins as WWE champion seriously when the US champion has had so many wins against him? Plus, Rollins had the US title for a month... What did anyone gain from that?

we're not supposed to take Rollins seriously as champion. he's a heel champion who you're supposed to hate and he's supposed to lose all the time, except when he cheats or does something cheap to get a random win over a legend or a guy they put in as a placeholder.
Cena is the only superstar in the WWE. He's the only one we should care about and the only one we should want to win.

Rollins said a million times he was the first man to hold the WWE Championship and the US Championship at the same time. That was the point of it.
Plus, I'm glad Cena got the US title back. Hope he does the Open Challenges again.
I'm also assuming it has to do with the trailing ratings as well.

Cena won because Cenawinslol. Did you expect anything different?
And I was totally against the dual champion thing since the start. Neither guy needed both titles, and just like you said, Rollins gained nothing from holding the US Championship for a month, and made to look like a geek by giving it back up to Cena so soon. Like John needs to look better. I understand there was really no one else as big that Seth could face at Summerslam, but holy crap...
Seth is the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, dammit! He shouldn't give his left nut for a midcard title!

Seth was never really meant to have or do anything with the US Title, they just booked themselves into a corner and that was the only way to get out of it.
Regardless, yes, Rollins looks like a chump against Cena. Everyone looks like a chump against Cena. That's the way the company works.

The whole attacking before the bell thing seems to be irrelevant when you wrestle John Cena, because when Cena had a damaged shoulder against Damien Sandow when Sandow cashed in, it doesn't matter because Cena doesn't get injured.
Also, why does Rollins even care for the title?! He's the WWEWHC. He should've just said "Forget the US Title, it's worthless to a World Champ like me." and dealt with Kane.

The reason why they had Seth Rollins make a big deal out of being US Champion too, was because John Cena couldn't lose the US Title to a mid-card guy. He had to lose the US Title to the WWE Champion, thus showing that only the WWE Champion could end John's US Title reign.
I am sure when he loses the US Title again, it will be to someone who is well established and has had main event wins or even a former WWE Champion.

Nobody ever really comes off looking good in a feud against John Cena so it doesn't really matter. That being said, Seth's role as WWE champion is the cowardly heel which he is portraying brilliantly so I'm fine with that.

I would be fine with the cowardly heel gimmick if he at least won clean on even a rare occasion. He literally never wins clean. It comes across kinda forced too when you watch a Rollins match and see how amazing he is in the ring.

One can argue he won clean Sunday night against Sting. But the cowardly heel doesn't win cleanly...or he wouldn't be the cowardly heel. And Seth looked far from fresh last night as he was walking around all night with a limp holding his back. Which is what he was what he told the Authority when they showed up. Telling them Kane booked his rematch and he was physically in no condition for the match.

This great run Cena and Brock are having, should ultimately be used to make a couple stars. It does no good to have an already established guy get the rub, no one gets anything out of that. It should be used to make a Rusev or Zayn or Owens or Rollins or Ambrose etc into the next bonifide mega star

Why does every heel champion besides Lesnar have to be booked like a chump? That's the question. Triple H wasn't booked this bad when he was on top.

Glad you made this thread, when Cena no-sold the frogsplash and reversed to AA I think I threw up in my mouth a little... Don't ask me to explain why, but apparently US champ > WWE world champ.

Everyone is saying "Well hes the cowardly heel" but why? Why cant he be a cocky heel who cashed in on a great opportunity and has found ways to win ever since. It's like you see him go in the ring and he is the best going right now. But it all gets pushed to the side because he never wins by himself. I just dont get why a heel HAS to be cowardly. They cant come up with other ways for the crowd to dislike somebody? Cowardly heel is so overdone.

He even pulled out the Phoenix splash which is very rare. I could understand if Cena had caught him while limping or something, but Seth couldn't have been any better.
