The biggest example of this for me is Roman Reigns.
Good lord I hated him last year. Like..a weird amount of hate. Anyways, he won me over with his stuff during the snowed in RAW and then the match at WM won me over fully. Then putting on a shockingly good match with D-Bry, and pulling a good match out the Big Show was cool too.
I kinda just let go of the "smarky" way of thought with him, and just started to enjoy him I guess. I'm not saying that everyone should do that, it's just what I did.
Hell, I even wore his shirt I got at NOC today to college. It's a nice shirt too.
Another guy was Rusev. It started with his excellent selling against Jack Swagger. Then we all know how great he got after that.
D-Bry won me over with Team Hell No and went to be one of my all time favorites.
New Day is obvious.
Who won you over?

Heath Slater is probably one of the only ones I can think of that I hated from the start that won me over. I liked Reigns when he was in the Shield, only disliked him very briefly after his Rumble win but I like watching him in the ring. His match with Bryan at Fastlane and the Brock match put me back into the liking him category. So I wouldn't really say he won me over because I liked him when he debuted. Cena too, I liked Cena from the start of his rapper gimmick, got sick of him around 2006 and now appreciate how damn good he is.
I guess the New Day won me over with their gimmick in a sense but I was a fan of all 3 guys and was really wanting to see where it went before I wrote them off personally.
So... yeah, Heath Slater. I'm a big Heath Slater fan now after the stuff with 3MB. He is super entertaining and he's got one of those personalities in the ring that makes you just want someone to punch him in the mouth. He's great.

Randy Orton. Hated him from the beginning. When everyone was singing his praises with the Legend Killer gimmick and his heel stuff in 2009 I was still sitting their saying he was awful. Then something clicked in late 2011. I was watching one of his matches and everything looked so...good. Like I just suddenly opened my eyes to him and thought, damn, this guy's great. No wonder he got to where he did. Been a fan ever since.
That's really it. There usually aren't many people I dislike to begin with. Of the current roster I can only count three people in total that I do not like. I suppose I could add Bray Wyatt to this list, but that was more that I hated him as Husky Harris and like him as Bray Wyatt.

Didn't see anything in Dolph Ziggler when he debuted the gimmick, thought for sure he was dead in the water. Now he's one of my favorites. Never thought in 2008 when he was shaking hands introducing himself that he would be as over as he is.
Same for Cesaro, when he debuted I just didn't see the hype, in late 2012 he won me over though with some great matches. Another one of my current favorites
I still don't see the fuss about Rusev, at this point not sure that I ever will. Im hoping he will impress me at some point but he's been on the roster almost 2 years now, and hasn't done anything for me.

Jack Swagger. I wasn't sold on him for the longest time. I actually called him Thuper Therious Thack Thwagger. But I LOVED his face run and feud with Rusev. Wish he could have racked up at least a victory in there somewhere. Now I'm begging for this guy to find some direction.
Wade Barrett is another. Didn't care much for him till the Bad-news gimmick. I think he's a solid upper mid-card heel.

Roman Reigns. Thought he was ok in The Shield, didn't like the obvious push he got upon his return but his match with Bryan won me over.
Rusev. Wasn't a fan until the start of the year and he's been the best thing about the Ziggler/Rusev/Lana/Summer feud.
Sasha Banks. This time last year I couldn't stand the woman but her match with Charlotte at R-Evolution won me over.

Dolph Ziggler for me. Prior to him starting to be the Show Off I couldn't stand him but I suppose that was due to the millions of Kofi Kingston & John Morrison rematches that would be on RAW, SmackDown and PPVs. I think Vickie being his mouthpiece and generating more heat than him was another factor too. Now I'm one of his biggest fans with almost most of his t-shirts lol.

Rusev. Despite the fact that it was obvious the talent was always there, at first he was just a stereotypical monster foreign heel. But in the last half of 2014 he started putting on some really good matches and was showing some great in-ring psychology. And this past year he's just gone completely over the top and has been one of the most entertaining acts in the company.
And he's got a flag with his face on it.

Edge
I hated. And I mean HATED him. God he was such a shitty baby face. Especially being such a big Matt Hardy fan back then. But then when he ended Cenas OG reign of doom (arguably his worst) and started doing some of the best heel work of all time , I had no choice but to become a fan.
Seth Rollins
Figured he would be the one out of the three shield members to fall into obscurity. Turned out he's a bonifdie mega star. And the best out of the three.
Tyson Kidd
Not that I ever disliked him. But he never did anything for me. But after his NXT run , He's now my second favorite wrestler and one of my favorite ever. What an amazing wrestler.

I couldn't say New Day because I was always a huge Kofi fan. He's been a favorite for years. At one point I had hoped Woods and Kofi would form a team and feud with the Usos. I also really liked Big E relatively quickly after his WWE debut. Never expected them to all make it together though.

Bo Dallas, Heath Slater, and Bull Dempsey are my prime examples. Hated them all, then they got a character change and it totally won me over.
