Unless Murray literally falls to pieces and gets chased the next four games and every game he plays next season until the draft, I think it's fair to already say that Matt Murray has successfully unseated Marc-Andre Fleury as the starting goaltender for the Pittsburgh Penguins. That being said, Flower is a fantastic regular season goalie who may be the biggest choke artist in history in the playoffs. Will someone risk a lot on him? That's why id give what I offered.a 50sometjing overall pick and fringe nhler. Lol I think if the Pens lose they night still keep Fleury the next year as a tandem I could see them rolling with a tandem but I'm not sure if either of them would be ok with the lower play time in a whole season. Flower's gotta be hating sitting on the bench but realizes Murray's been arguably the best player in the playoffs this season so he's gotta hang back but in a full season? They're both going to want more playing time.

They're both going to want more playing time. That's why I think if we don't win the cup they might do the tandem especially. Murray doesn't have much NHL time under his belt it's a lot of pressure to do a seasons worth of playing starter and then playoffs. I think they might like to keep Fleury if we lose. Give Murray the chance to start next year, but Fleury there if he falters. Then deal Fleury at either the deadline or the 2017 draft. If we win the cup they might be more comfortable moving Murray now. Stock back up some picks since so many have been traded

Mad that Ken Hitchcock is coming back but happy that it's only for a year. I was hoping for a regime change because we won't be winning a Cup so long as Hitchcock is our head coach. But, since he'll be here for one year, hopefully we unload some of the bad apples on the team and sign/re-sign some players (please give Troy Brouwer whatever he wants).

Conor Sheary makes it 2-0, where did this guy come from? Sullivan brought him up from the Baby Pens when he was named coach mid season. SURVIVAL PT. 2! The Pens are being carried by HBK offensively, but the ing rookies man. Sheary, Murray, Rust...it's something. Welp onto San Jose. Those are going to be the most nerve wracking two games I've ever seen I think.

As much as I want to get excited, I'm not going to yet. I don't want to end up feeling like Detroit did back in 2009.

So Couture accused Sid of cheating on faceoffs because he "times it"? Isn't that what you want to be doing?

So Couture accused Sid of cheating on faceoffs because he "times it"? Isn't that what you want to be doing? One of Pittsburgh's local sports reporters was talking about that and said: "Look. I'm obviously a Penguins fan. But timing the face off...that's the Center's job, isn't it? It's not like the official's giving him a countdown to when and how the puck's being dropped. Sounds like he's just upset the Sharks lost that face off." Stupid argument from Couture.

You won't win one without him either. Makes me laugh at so many fans wanting his head when he's kept you extremely competitive I wouldn't call it headhunting. It's pretty justified. We've lost in the first round three of the five years we've made it to the playoffs under Ken Hitchcock, and aside from this year's Conference Finals, the only other time we made it past the quarterfinals we were swept by the Kings in the next round. I won't go so far as to pin all our shortcomings on Hitchcock alone—I think there are a few players, Berglund and Pietrangelo in particular, who've been with the team for years and haven't gotten it done. Also, the Blues' shortcomings in this year's playoffs were arguably Hitchcock's fault (see: benching Elliott, starting Allen, benching Allen, starting Elliott). Some of his decisions were questionable and I think the game has passed him up. We've stayed competitive under Hitchcock, sure, but seeing as the only Stanley Cup he's won was with a Stars team featuring Mike Modano, Brett Hull, and Ed Belfour, over 10 years ago, I think it's fair to say he probably doesn't have another Cup in him, especially with a team like the Blues where our "star" is Tarasenko, who's nowhere near the same level as Modano or Hull. Surely there are coaching candidates out there who could win a Cup with the current cast of Blues, give or a take a few players. Nevertheless, for a team that's as successful as the Blues but has never won a Cup, I think any "headhunting" for Hitchcock is entirely justified.

I'll admit to blaming Bylsma for the Pens woes from 2009-2014 but that's because he was such a pushover. I don't see that with the Blues personally.

About damn time, they've needed a uniform overhaul for 15 years now.

About damn time, they've needed a uniform overhaul for 15 years now. Kinda like the old logo better I think (not that this new one is bad at all), but the Panthers definitely needed a uniform reworking. Overall it's a nicely designed jersey. I'm assuming the pants will be the dark blue like in the shield...

Pietrangelo is usually their best player in the playoffs. Apart from that I agree, Hitchcock's just whatever and whenever the Blues fail I always blame him (and Steve Ott and the memory of Ryan Miller) whether it's rational or not. I also just assume that he hates Brian Elliot.
