my friends on social media and other public forum boards give me crap about buying toys and actually collecting wrestlers. they keep telling me i have no life\will never get laid\have no friends\childish\etc (they even put me down about buying TSHIRTS! and how this is stupid to walk around with a wrestling tshirt)
did that happen to you? and what do you say to those people who try to shame you (mostly in public?)

In life, there will always be people who do this. They're the ones who follow, and don't lead. They fall into peer pressure and care about what people think of them. Be the bigger man, and dismiss of them. They aren't your friend if they judge and harass you for what you love. It comes with being a wrestling/figure fan. Just move on, dismiss of them, and find more friends that share your hobby. Just think to yourself, there's a lot of more people who collect figures and love wrestling than hate it.

Life is short, don't involve yourself with them you will only stress yourself out and it will drain your confidence. Some people are only out there to make other people's lives miserable.
Two bits of advice I got in school from teachers has always stood with me "Fight the big fights, not the little ones" and "How many of these people will you realistically talk to in 5 years time"
Don't waste another second of your time and energy on them. Do what makes you happy!
It's what makes us different that sets us apart......

Best advice: Don't care about other's opinions.
You should care about what you think, you can't get far in life if you listen to the people that shame on you.
Be the leader, not the follower.

Id ignore them, or carry on. Unless youre still in High school. Then I feel sorry because you cant escape it, but other people shouldnt care about what you spend your time/money on. I quit caring about wrestling years ago because of times changing and people didnt talk about it publicly like attitude era.
Once youre out of school though, who the hell cares

I have thousands of figures... Star Wars, GI Joe, WWE, etc. and I have plenty of friends...a pretty good career, and I have been laid many, many times.
Not as much now that I'm married (ZING!), but I have a pretty good life and will continue to collect toys as long as I have the money to do so.
Who gives a frak what social media junkies think? I bet it's hard for them to get laid when they can't tear themselves away from Facebook and Twitter for longer the 30 seconds.
I guarantee their significant other would trade their "gotta finish within 30 seconds so I can update my Facebook status" guy for a "60 minute man" with a Ric Flair figure standing on his night stand! lol

Those aren't your friends for shaming you. A friend is supposed to build you
up and be there for you, no matter what your personal interests are. My
friends aren't into wrestling, but they don't make fun of me for collecting.
I have never hid it from girls either, they've all thought it was cool
believe it or not. If you have these negative people around, they're not
worth keeping in your future.

I say F*** them. I have tons of wrestling shirts and most people give me looks but it don't bother me. I'm proud to be a wrestling fan and I used to be embarrassed about people I know seeing me buy figures at Walmart but now I just don't care. Like the others have said there are haters out here that just try to bring people down. Just keeping doing your thing and they will move onto something else.

If you ask me, they aren't really your friends if they act that way.
Live life for yourself, not for others' sake.

They're just insecure about themselves so they have to make fun of other people to make them feel better. I'd feed into it...if they know it doesn't bother you they won't bother doing it. my friends on social media and other public forum boards give me crap about buying toys and actually collecting wrestlers. they keep telling me i have no life\will never get laid\have no friends\childish\etc (they even put me down about buying TSHIRTS! and how this is stupid to walk around with a wrestling tshirt) did that happen to you? and what do you say to those people who try to shame you (mostly in public?)

I turn 36 later this month, have 150 wrestling figures and John Cena shirts in 8 different colors. I have never followed trends during most my life and do not care what others think.

Jerks are going to talk.
MY advice. Get laid, and get a life. Then if they continue to say that you will know they are wrong.
I never had problems with those two things. SO when people said it to me I would say" I have no problems in those departments. Plus I still play with toys. So what does that say about you?"
